Tolerance is what the Gays said they wanted at first. Okay.
Acceptance is what they wanted next. Hmmmm.
Approval was their next demand. Approval? Huh?.
Applause! is what they seem to need now. How did we get here?

This demand to quarantine a political enemy might have had more credibility if the target the Campaign for Human Rights -- were busily burning crosses on social conservatives lawns. But they arent. No, they aren't. They are doing something far worse: preaching the gay agenda to a captive audience--children in government schools, lobbying for special rights for gays, pushing hate crime laws, voting for Democrats, extorting money from taxpayers, undermining the sanctity of marriage, trying to destroy the Boy Scouts of America and attempting to drive religion out of the public square.

Horowitz also carried some bizarre columns about circumcision one time. What's it to him if some people believe in circumcision?

Whereas homosexuals and homosexual groups feel free in public schools to promote their beliefs and gospel, Gary Bauer would be arrested. Homosexuals are the most egregious bigots in America today. Fundamentalists are the ones under attack by Homosexual groups not the other way around (eg Dr Laura).

"Beginning" to sound like Mr. Sour Grapes?
He's been in a permanent snit since he and the other Suslovites tried to clobber Bush in 2000...and failed.

Yet more proof that neoconservatives are not real conservatives. Bill Bennett is a "neoconservative" who would profoundly disagree with Horowitz' sentiments. Bill Buckley would as well. ....as would many so-called "neos." You seem a bit obsessed with labeling people into set groups. We conservatives are individuals, and as individuals have different takes on a variety of issues.

Horowitz - a voice of reason in a sea of hysteria. I would highlight and comment all the parts that I say an "Amen" to, but then I'd simply be copying the whole thing.
Horowitz is precisely on target here, and there are a few Freepers who could stand to hear this as well.

Thank you. Gang rape is not addressed in the Gospels either.
I guess we can just infer that opposition to gang rape is merely a personal interpretation and that reasonable people can just split the difference?
Horowitz seems to be reverting to leftist "logic" in debating this point.

I've never understood what people find appealing about the self-enamored Horowitz.
As Robert Bryd's long past membership in the Klan still stains him in the eys of the right, why is the stain of the David's communism so invisible? Has he ever renounced the actions/mass murders of those he was so ideologically in lockstep with?

Racicot's lame excuse that he'll "meet with anybody" needed to be shown as the empty statement that it was. Racicot's mistake was believing that Gary Bauer is capable of reasonable discernment.

In four Gospels - including the Sermon on the Mount - Jesus neglected to mention the subject of homosexuality. But that hasnt stopped a handful of self-appointed leaders of the so-called Religious Right from deciding that it is an issue worth the presidency of the United States. Well I guess it's time to get rid of Acts, Romans 1,2 Cor, Gal, Eph, Phil, Col, 1,2 The, 1,2 Tim, Titus, Philemon, Heb, Jame, 1,2 Peter, 1,2,3 John, Jude and Revelation.

What may be legal is not necessarily moral (and vice versa).
Yes, and that is why repealing things like sodomy laws doesn't mean the behavior in question is being condoned, let alone embraced. It means its none of the government's business.

In four Gospels - including the Sermon on the Mount - Jesus neglected to mention the subject of homosexuality.
Actually, he did, by reference to sexual immorality (Mt15:16-20 (NIV)):
"Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them. "Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.'"
It is conservative values that forge our community and create our coalition, and neither you nor anyone else has - or should have - a monopoly in determining what those values are.
Truth is our nation highest value, and there is no truth whatosever -- that is, no correspondence of the mind with reality -- in same-sex genital behavior.

That was Jamie Glazov, one of Horowitz's stable of writers.
Glazov is a Christian - but he is also a bit of a whackjob who is obsessed with some strange fixations, like the anti-circumcision movement.
Kind of like Gary North at World Net Daily who was a Y2K mental patient - he fits the role of the "wacky Christian" at WND.

Racicot should invite Bauer to breakfast:

Andrew Sullivan found John McCain worthy of support too. So if supporting John McCain proves anything, which one is right on gay issues?
Bush is not God and he shouldn't be worshipped. One way or another, he will be gone in five and a half years. Will you be able to find a new presidential idol to replace him?

I'm certainly no fan of Bauer's, but do you honestly agree with Horowitz's assertion that use the term "homosexual agenda" is a baseless example of "intolerance"?
That accusation seems quite stifling to the free expression of opinions that Horowitz claims to champion.
