Chimps Now to be Considered Humans
National Geographic ^ | 5/19/2003 | kkindt

Posted on 05/20/2003 2:05:10 PM PDT by kkindt

A new report argues that chimpanzees are so closely related to humans that they should be included in our branch of the tree of life. Chimpanzees and other apes have historically been separated from humans in classification schemes, with humans deemed the only living members of the hominid family of species

No one can debunk the theory of 'animal rights' better than you can...maybe you can for this post.

Nowhere in the article does it make any mention of considering chimps to be human.

In the new scientific name, "Homo" (the genus name) means "man".

There is a misleading and prevailing misconception that each organism or a cell develops out of DNA.

It does.

It does?! When, please enlighten me.

It never happens, during the division of already existing cell the DNA gets replicated and inherited by each cell to be used as a library of genes.

Yes, exactly. And the additional "cell machinery" for the doubled cell is built via instructions from the DNA (both nuclear and mitochondrial).

Via passive instructions, same way as the meal can be cooked via intructions from the cook book.

During the seuxal reproduction, DNA gets recombinated inside of already existing cells.

Yes, so?

I just covered another situation beside the division. I cannot wait when you describe how the DNA CREATES the living cell.

Very different species can use even the same library in a different way and order.

You are invited to document this amazing claim.

I meant "could". The same library could be used in a different way by two similar species. Puting aside the high probabilty of some random divergence, such thing appears to me quite possible. Some day it may be discovered.

You see, the science did not stop with Newton and will not stop with "classic" Jurasic Park style DNA paradigm. I claim that genes are not the controlling part of live process but a library which is used by the living cells.

Same way as different running processes in the computer can use the same dynamic link libraries in a very different way (MS Access is different from the Word, but their genes/dynamically linked functions could be identical). If the process is continuous the static binary might be removed and be preserved only in the process memory.

Equating animal life with human life isn't elevating an animal, it's tearing down humans.

So finding out more about how and where we come from is inherently self-destructive because we might find out we actually come from this place? - Science is not about ego.

Annette F with the Beach Boys in the Disney movie The Monkees Uncle

CHORUS:

Uh-huh, she loves the monkees uncle

Yeah, yeah, she loves the monkees uncle

Whoa, Whoa, she loves the monkees uncle...

VERSE:

Well, I don't care what the whole world thinks

(she loves the monkees uncle)

Call us a couple of missing links

(she loves the monkees uncle)

I love all his monkee shines

Every day is Valentines

I love the monkees uncle and I wish I were the monkees aunt!

(repeat chorus)

Feels like the circus just came to town

(she loves the monkees uncle)

Sometimes I feel just like a clown

She loves the monkees uncle)

I love all his monkee shines

Everyday is valentines

I love the monkees uncle and the monkey's uncle's ape for me!

(repeat chorus)

Some say he's the booby prize

(She loves the monkees uncle)

he's the guy I idolize

(she loves the monkees uncle)

I'd live in a jungle gym

in order to be with him

I love the monkees uncle and I'm mad about his chimpanzee!

(repeat chorus).

"There is absolutely NO RELATION between a chimp and a human!"

Ha! You never saw my second-cousin Clarence, did you?

Actually, Maxine Waters is the strongest argument for evolution I've evr seen.

Poor baby, science hits you right in the faith again.

Faith? What are you talking about? Believing that "chimps now to be considered humans" is anything but complete and utterless bull$hit would take a tremendous leap of faith!

Either that or a total lack of common sense. There's a better argument that the fly on the wall is my grandmother reincarnated.

I'm sorry, but you really do have to be a complete dumba$$ to buy into this crap! Faith don't have diddly squat to do with it.

If chimps are now people, what are we going to do when this guy surfaces? Put him on welfare?

If that is the scariest thing you read on this thread before you left, you might get out intact

The thing that scare's the hell out of me is that some loser from "Dem Underground" will read this thread and lump me in with the likes of you, and the next thing I know they'll be saying that all conservatives are "nuts" and here's the proof!

I mean come on really, This is something that probably originated at "The Onion"

He might be right after all. The run-away science can conflict with true faith. After all the wisdom and knowledge (including science) is based on faith. No faith, no religion and civilisation will decline together with the science.

There was Lysenko science in Soviet Union, Dr. Mengele science in Third Reich and so me might get politically correct anti-human science.

Um, equating Chimps with Humans is not about scientific research, it's about a political and social agenda.

Yep!...and as far as I know the "Missing Link" is still just that, MISSING!

""any better" than the *one* dishonest hoax in human paleontology in over a century (and do you really want me to start listing the many creationist hoaxes?), "

I love to wrankle these proud scientists, they get so angry when you confront them with the truth. Your ramblings boil down to the fact that you're not dealing with an exact science; you're just trying to pass it off as such. Exact science is knowledge so systematized that prediction and verification, by measurement, experiment, observation, etc., are possible.. Your DNA monkey bait fools nobody. At least I stated one of the great evolutionist hoaxes, "Piltdown Man", you have not named even one of "the many creationist hoaxes" you babbled about. Nice try son, but you need to authenticate your silly positions with facts, not theory, next time you decide to make such ridiculous claims. Somebody needs to inform you that the missing link is still missing.
