Clinton and Gore can sell this country down the river, some director can shoot this girlfriend, you got oodles of celebrities on drugs, and what do people get upset about? An actress who smokes.
Is this world upside down or what?

Can you just imagine the furor if she had waved an empty muzzleloader over her head!

IN best Robert Deniro "Taxi Driver" voice, "You talkin' to me? Are YOU talking to ME?!" It depends. Are you a bloody "fascist prohibitionist and health-freak tyrant" by any chance?

Nope, just a guy who finds the stench of stale cigarette smoke in a woman's hair and on her breath a major turn off. Like I said, she can smoke if she wants.

What's that old joke about "smoking after sex"?
"I don't know... I never checked"
She can smoke whatever, whenever and however... she's just beautiful.

She can smoke if she wants, but her stock just took a nose dive in the BoT beauty index. To each his own of course, I just happen to find chicks who smoke extremely sexy. It gives them that "bad girl" image.

Really? You must be a smoker as most non and ex smokers can't stand the smell. As an ex-smoker, I find that I am really turned off by the image myself.

What if smoking is a cure for SARS? - has anyone done a survey? - I'll ask Philip Morris.

"This is the first time she has given a press conference while smoking, although she has previously spoken about having to take up the habit, and learn to roll cigarettes for her Oscar-winning role in The Hours."
I have smoked for years as a pleasurable moment in my library. I find smoking is not addictive, period.
If Kidman smoked a joint, she would not be vilified. One more thing, if people understood that tobacco is not to be used every 20 minutes; this would not be a story.

hmmm..don't smoker taxes pay for any of these costs?

What if smoking is a cure for SARS? Smoking inhibits onset of Parkinson and Alzheimer. It is good for the nervous system. Smoking without inhaling (pipes and cigars) is less addictive and eliminates almost all health risks. Smoking lowers the stress and smokers are nicer friendlier people.

Really? You must be a smoker as most non and ex smokers can't stand the smell. I am a smoker. My best friend, a non-smoker also agrees with my position and went out and found a smoker to marry --as did my father when he married my mother. Even if I did not smoke, I would still find the image of women smoking to be alluring.
Just my $0.02.

hmmm..don't smoker taxes pay for any of these costs? Are you kidding? States took their tobacco settlements and went out like lottery winners, spending the money on everything *but* smoking-related expenses (if there truly are any).

She's a gorgeous woman and a devoted mother who removed her children from that CULT known as scientology.
She's a winner in my book...go ahead and smoke anywhere you want, honey.

I recently walked
clear through downtown Chicago
after years living
in a south suburb.
Every building seemed to have
a dozen or so
employees standing
out front smoking. Everyone
walking past was forced
to breath in their smoke.
There were so many smokers
smoking up outside
that all of downtown
smelled like a dirty ashtray.
It stinks! If someone
put forward a law
against smoking in public
I'd vote for it fast!
(If business need
smokers, let them build break rooms
that filter the air.
We, as a culture,
would not allow, say, people
to cook sauerkraut
outside every door.
Why should citizens put up
with smoke every where?)

BTW, Nicole prefers Marlboros. For the liberal elite, sucking on a Marlboro is bad, on a President is OK.
