Ooh! Been watching O'Reilly tear the LA Times to shreds! What's sad is though the LA Times, The New York Times, and CNN have all been discredited due to lies and deceipt, They still hold quite an audience. Of cource their loyal followers don't get the news from other sources so of course they're oblivious as to what has happened to their favorite media.

CNN's audience is definately on the decline. As far a the two Times go, I saw a piece a while back that stated that subscriptions had been declining for them for some time.

Hopefully, that is correct. If so, maybe the recent disclosures will speed up those baby steps...

I agree about Deep Throat. Too many diverse 'facts' were attributed to one person. Had to be a composite with a bit of wish fulfillment thrown in for good measure.

As a matter of contrast, Rupert Murdock was in DC today to testify about wanting a right to buy DirecTV, and the Senators quizzed him about the conservative reportage on Fox. There can never be too much reporting from the left, but one of honourable ladies from California read from a prepared text querying the impartiality of Fox when someone on camera referred to France as 'the axis of Weasels.'

Apparently that is only a conservative perspective! I guess loyal libs are still enamored if Chirac et al! Sheesh!

Through the 8 long years of X42, we heard nothing but, "there is no evidence to prove....", using a very legalistic definition of evidence. Evidence has the opposite scope when it comes to accusing conservatives.

For what it's worth, Len Colodny wrote a pretty interesting book some years ago called Silent Coup, in which he documented that Bob Woodward had been a briefing officer while in the Navy, and that one of the guys he had been assigned to brief was Alexander Haig. He develloped a pretty interesting case for Haig being Deep Throat.

You gotta admit, that "interview" with Casey that would have had to take place while he was in a coma was pretty funny...

He should have been fired. That's the real racism in this story--the plagiarizing black reporter should have been sacked, but the inept editor who permitted this to happen because of his white liberal guilt should have been shown the door, too. Raines has done more damage to honest, legitimate black journalists anywhere than ten Klansmen. I hope the Supreme Court is paying attention--this is what affirmative action leads to, inevitably and sadly.
