This priest is getting off lightly. One year for each offense is not much more than a slap on the wrist. He just made the mistake of committing 20 offenses. Hopefully he'll die in prison.

This may help the roman catholic church reform itself, but I doubt it.

Sexually abusing a child is a crime that will affect the victims forever. People who are sexually abused go on to abuse others, commit other crimes , suffer mental illness, or deal with the effect of the trauma forever.

It's no accident he wanted this position of power as a priest. I wonder if he'll find out in prison what it's like to be abused.

Kelly, the archbishop who was aware of these crimes and condoned them for over a decade, should receive a life sentence. The death penalty would be more appropriate. I'll bet a lot of priests, archbishops, and other hanger-ons are puckering up about now.

Give him one month to think about what he did.

Then execute him.

The Courier-Journal headline stressed "20 Years," but he is unlikely to serve more than four, if that long.

We need to get these man-made religions out of here if they're going to have decades upon decades of criminals running them.
