What did that guy on Rita Cosby's show just say about Eric Rudolph listening to Rush Limbaugh?

Sorry to initiate this thread this way, but I just came inside from working in the yard all day and clicked on the TV. FOX's Rita Cosby was talking to some guy about Eric Rudolph and the guy said something about Rudolph listening to Rush Limbaugh. I missed the first part of the interview so I don't know the context of the statement.

Is there anybody who heard the whole segment who can shed some light on this?

A guy who bombs abortion clinics and gay bars shouldn't be hard to portray as anti-gay and anti-abort.. Heh.

It's not uncommon for people to set fire to their own homes with the hopes that their insurance companies assume it was someone other than the homeowners who set the fire. This is known as arson.

It is also not uncommon for people to spray paint swastikas and racist slurs on their own garage doors hoping that people will assume they are the targets of race crimes.

Keeping those things in mind, I would contend that it is entirely possible that Eric Rudolph is a left-wing wacko who perpetrated these bombings for the explicit purpose of having the anti-Christian bigot community go absolutely ape-Gore.

Hey. WC Fields loved kids. He played with his grandchildren all the time. Your life is a fantasy, KC, and so are your memories.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll see. Personally, I'm thinking it's that river in Egypt you're rafting.

Well then, what exactly is your point in all of this?

Funny that the press is not noting Rudolph's love of opera.

If the New York Times is true to form, they'll report that he loved the Opry.

This one is about done, don't you think?

I'm just having a beer, listening to some music here, so I can go either way. If you have anything else to say, I'm happy to engage. Otherwise, I'll be glad to move on. I'm flexible like that.

I LOVE OPERA.
Studying classical music for years as a child and being a conservative what else can I say? My husband prefers blue grass and country music. We're balanced.
All music is beautiful, but it takes intellengence to appreciate Beethoven, Bach, Rachminoff,Tschaikowsky. Schumann,Chopin,Handel,Moszkowsski.Mozart(my favorite), and Schubert. Many others.
My profession? Medical Professional.

You mean it wasn't right-wing Jesus freaks sending Sweet n' Lo to Planned Parenthood back in '01 (while sending the real anthrax to more worthy targets like American Media)?

I'm going to assume that Rudolph is what he appears to be in this case, though. Leftists aren't real big on putting their own asses on the line for the cause, they'd much rather knock off strangers exclusively.

That's my whole point. Rudolph didn't put his own ass on the line. He put other's asses on the line. It is the pro-aborts who place no value on human life.

It's colorful. The inside of the old palaces are still fabulous. I assume you have seen pictures of the Amber Room from the St Petersburg celebrations. It's suprising how colorful and ornate Russia is, when I grew up with mental images of a cold and grey USSR.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll see.

I hope we'll see. If it turns out that Eric Rudolph is indeed a right-wing nut-job, I will be at the forefront of denouncing him.

If it turns out he is a left-wing nutjob, will you do the same?

BTW, what are your thoughts on Ted Kaczynski(sp)? You know...the Unabomber.

Well... he is most likely going to be executed.

Granted, he did his damndest to avoid it, but still. It's hard to say there weren't grave personal risks in what he did.

That's Ted "Earth in the Balance" Kaczynski.

Can you imagine if Rudolph had a manifesto published that quoted Reagan or Bush? The Unibomber directly quotes Al Gore's book in his, and the media ingored it entirely.

I don't think you've contributed much to this discussion. I understood Lauratealeaf's comment well enough, #11, to be that the Meida is thematically selective in what they report and how and how often they report it, e.g., they will howl over this because he's considered a right-wing nut. But:

1) The incidence of nut cases seems to occur across all points of the political spectrum. Even if someone is nuts doesn't make the target of their admiration less, anything...If he is a right wing fringe-dweller, what of it?

2) The Media tends to ignore 1) to paint Their target as flawed. In this case their target is talk radio - any fool can see that - they are from a rival media format and ideological bent. If their target was listeners of Opera, they be weaving this story into the Phantom killer of the past.

3) If you have been intellectually awake during the last 4 decades you'd see the point here.
