That was a quote from Sam Gibbons YEARS ago. He was some old redneck trash from Florida, and I think he grabbed Joe Scarborough by the tie one time.

Sure did see Waters! It was like Saturday Night Live for the RAT Women except it was real time! You couldn't have written their hissy fits any better. I laughed when Pelosi got going, the RATs applauded, and she started trying to keep from being giddy instead of angry. DemocRAT women in the House definitely give women a bad name!

Thought Speaker Hastert nailed them perfectly with his pointing fingers and flailing arms when describing the RATs! Somewhere in Debate/Speech class they missed the part about using your hands and arms too much can distract from your message! They all reminded me of clinton and his "I did not . . ."

What is it with RATs continually pointing and shaking their finger at people to make their point?

Back in 1968 (!), Time magazine lamented that the nominations of Nixon and Agnew meant the Republicans were "changing GOP from 'Grand Old Party' to 'Going Out of Politics'".

As you can see, not much has changed with that rag, or the left, for that matter, over the years.

1968 was really the debut for the "New Politics" types in the Democratic party (read: extreme left takes over an established political party). Great impetus was gained from McCarthy's (Eugene, not Joe!) 43% "win" in New Hampshire's primary, an event that must have sent the nation's newspeople into a bout of orgasmic joy.

But enough of that history.

You're right, tho. The press and their soul brothers on the left did rachet up the decibel level when Ronnie won in '82. The landslide of '86 did quiet things down a bit for a while, but Bush I's assumption of the party leadership pretty much ensured a return to "politics as usual".

We have a tremendous opportunity coming up with 2004. Unless the Repubs do a number of incredibly stupid things (never dismiss such a possibility where politicians are concerned!), I stand by my earlier view that November 2004 will see a Dow at 12,000+, a NASDAQ at 2000+, and an economy poised to rebound very nicely, thank you.

Additionally, Bush must address the Iran and North Korean questions firmly and, one would hope, convincingly.

Should these things come to pass, it is quite probable that the Democrats will be enjoying minority status for some time to come, and I can't think of a nicer group of people it should happen to!

CA....

That was about 4 years before that I learned to read. ;-)

Careful there Borisbob69 with the typos...the liberals love to whine and do it in the most unlikely places.

I assume that you are referring to the "maroons" spelling of morons. That is actually from old Warner Bros. Bugs Bunny cartoons, where Bugs says things like "Wotta maroon!!" I would have to assume that Boris was using it in that sort of context, and alos to avoid any moderator editing.

In reference to the diatribe by that lib woman on that doll board, she is definitely a whiner. I had to recently write to the local free liberal rag about an article by a toadie named Bisbort, who appears to spend all his time drooling slackjawed by himself in a room in his mom's basement, pumping out vile anti Bush invective for publication in this paper of no merit (other than the News of the Weird). I, and another Freeper, cut him down to size by pointing out his considerable ignorance of the truth. He ranted about FR in a manner similar to Burns, but seemed to be completely oblivious to the hate and expletive filled posts on DU. Bisbort is a true "maroon," but he is a fine example of the kind of "thinking" that many rabid libs practice.

“Our bag of tricks is somewhat small, but we will continue to use it,” said Stacey Farnen, spokeswoman for House Minority Whip Rep. Steny Hoyer (search), D-Md. “There are some more dramatic ways we can express ourselves.”

I'm almost certain she's lying here. I figure she probably turns twelve or thirteen tricks a day

Yeah, the gold old double standard!!

We can treat you like a piece of garbage - but don't you try to do that to us!!

Well ... next election - they will have even fewer dems to work with - so I wish them good luck!!
