TWO former senior Iraqi officials from the 55 "most wanted" list are in the custody of US forces operating in the country, the US military said early today.
Mizban Khadr Al Hadi, a high-ranking regional Baath Party leader and a member of the ruling Revolutionary Command Council turned himself in to US troops in Baghdad, according to the Central Command.
He is number 23 on the coalition's list of most wanted former Iraqi government officials.
Former interior minister Mahmud Dhiyab Al-Ahmad, who is number 29 on the list, was captured at a location in Iraq that Centcom has not identified.

When is the Bush Administration going to release the Baathist
freedom fighters so they can meet in solidarity with their Palestinian brethren ?
It's a road map to somewhere ...
To: LurkedLongEnough
Sounds like these guys would rather be in our custody than worry about the wrath of saddam. Interesting development.

They all have vitually the same name over there, so I guess:
Mizban Khadr Al Hadi (#23) a high-ranking regional Baath Party leader and a member of the ruling Revolutionary Command Council
is not the same as:
Mizban Khadr Hadi (#41) a member of Iraq's Revolutionary Command Council and adviser to Saddam since the early 1980s

Thanks for the correction. I thought that I had caught something because the 9 of Hearts was common even though there were two different spellings.
The only thing that really matters is that there's more of the deck that have been captured!

What's not surprising, sadly, in all these stories about the capture of the various cards in the deck, is that probably 9 out of 10 of the captures, they had to result from information provided to the US by Iraqis....of course, this is never mentioned.

That's exactly what a former weapons inspector said recently. That those captured think prison is better than living in saddam's terror. He also pointed out that the threat always remains: you "tell", we kill your family.

To put into perspective what has been done re capturing the bad Iraqis, they are still finding and arresting Nazi SSers. Another one was found in Michigan last week.
I think that we are getting a lot more help from the Free Iraqis re turning over the bad guys than we got from the Germans after WWII ended re the SSers.
