I think they should rename it to The University of Massachusetts at Oxford Mississippi. The mascot can be an apologist, perched on a stool of everlasting repentance. Their fight song can be "We're Sorry For What We Are".

If Robert Khayat made this statement that means that he has heard an earful of opposition to his plot. Pete Boone had said only a 'vocal minority' opposed giving the Colonel the ax.
I guess in Boone's mind, he and Khayat alone make a majority.
