Incredible. I always suspected that guy had something to do with her medical situation. >>>>
That sounds more plausible than the potassium shortage.
Maybe one of the doctors here a FR could explain something about her condition. The original diagnosis for her heart attack was a low potassium count. I can't understand how a healthy person with no kidney disease could get such a low K count and get a severe heart attack which must have been an arrhythmia; can this be?

I have a thought. In the event that the tube is pulled, wouyld not a coroner have to get involved at that point? Wouldn't the coroner be in the position to discover if Terri's condition was the result of a crime? Wouldn't Terri's husband be potentially be charged with murder? That could mean pressure could be brought to bear against her husband not to pursue her death.
To: nickcarraway
Yes, but apparently the husband or someone is well connected enough to have covered up the evidence for ten years. If she dies the coroner may not even do an autopsy. I believe the family can waive it. In terms of convicting the husband, it is better if Terri remains alive. If she dies he is home free.

I don't have much adult cardiac experience but that would be my guess. Potassium and other electrolyte imbalances cause irregular electrical activity in the heart. I've never heard that described as a heart attack per se. I had a nurse friend who went on the Atkins diet and her electrolytes, potassium particularly, became very depleted. Her doctors freaked.

If she dies he is home free.Well, I hope she does remain alive. But I think the family could do something if she died. The family only can waive the autopsy if the authorities don't intervene. since this is a high-profile case, I have no doubt they can get an autopsy done.

I think the only family member who has any legal authority in this case is the husband.

When parents are suspected of being incompetent to the detriment of their
children they usually get a little visit from Child Protective Services.

The District Attorney can definitely order an autopsy, even if the family doesn't want it.

I'm on Atkins now; however, I take about 300 mg. potassium every day to counteract all the sodium I am consuming. My blood pressure dropped 40 points already!
