July 26, 2003 -- AS WMD hysteria reaches a frenzied pitch, comments by the head of the U.S. team searching Iraq for WMD evidence should give pause to the "Bush lied" crowd.
Dr. David Kay - the 63-year-old former U.N. weapons inspector now heading up the American WMD team - recently remarked that the United States will be "starting to reveal" WMD evidence in six months.

I can't help but think that, purposely or not, the President has laid a huge trap for his opponents. He is keeping quiet on WMD, and letting his enemies run their mouths. Six months from now, the article says, they will issue their report. That will be well into the election cycle, pretty good timing to embarrass his enemies.
And a more deserving lot could not be found anywhere; some of these guys served on the intelligence committees and should know better. They are walking right in with their eyes fully open and mouths running in high gear.

I've been saying this forever. It's all strategic, but not for political gain. It's to make sure all the ducks are in a row so the guilty nations who violated the embargo and helped Saddam to acquire/build all the WMDs will be exposed to the world.
In short: Bush'll stick it to France and their pals with NO lubrication....

I agree. Bush is a very disciplined man and loves to be "misunderestimated".
There was a flurry of reports of various labs and documents, etc. being found immediately after the war. What happened to all this evidence? It's being slowly, but surely, gathered for an overwhelming case of WMD in Iraq IMHO.

The UN and Democrats have been playing poker with a Five-Card Stud named Bush! It is very apparent that President Bush must calculate how to enhance the Presidential Election and US International Standing (not an easy task given the Liberals worldwide).
Once the US Presidential election season begins, look for the Republican trump card of defense being played to full effect. Coupled with an undeniably strong economy, this will put all those who have made their political careers in 2003-2004 pausable lose all credibility. On the international front, bringing oil prices down to below $26 a barrel will require those folks in Europe who hate Conservatives in the US to hold their venmon and make political-economic concessions (Europe needs oil at $24 a barrel to be industrially competitive or profitable, while the US requires $26). Iraqi oil will provide the Straight Flush backed by the Ace of Defense and King of Economics. Democrats and the UN Liberals will have dealth the winning to both the US and Bush campaigns and left holding thier hands, out for handouts:)

Bush is a very disciplined man and loves to be "misunderestimated".As many times as he has run circles around them it seems like the Dims would have wised up by now. Let them continue. They'll end up with a worse case of foot-in-mouth than Gephardt the other day.
Clinton's comment the other day saying President Bush was doing the right thing in Iraq was a message to the dim-witted Dims to get off the Iraq topic. They won't of course.

Once the WMD info is released, I wonder how long it'll take for the left to start demanding an investigation to determine: "To what lengths did Bush go to mislead the American people about WMD [knowledge] and for how long did he do it?"
(Somebody predicted "WMD in our possession" on the Dose. Was it you, Mike?)

No, they won't stop. Liberals are similar to drunks who think one more drink will make everything OK. They will continue this nonsense until the proof is overwhelming, as usual, that they were wrong. Then they will go on to something else.

Good Find kattracks.
If in fact they have already found wmd's, the primary motives for keeping it a secret is more to protect the tipsters, the operation and the stockpiles themselves.
Of course, the residual benefit is political suicide for the annihilation for the dems.
A dream scenario would be for W's poll numbers to drop so low that Hillary would get in the race and then announce the findings.
No doubt the rebuttal from the witch would be that Bush is lying. That would be rich, huh? Hillary calling Bush a liar.

"As many times as he has run circles around them it seems like the Dims would have wised up by now. Let them continue. They'll end up with a worse case of foot-in-mouth than Gephardt the other day." A MAJOR constant factor among the socialists (don't call'em Dims---call'em what they REALLY ARE) is their propensity for coming to REALLY BELIEVE their own propaganda. The ability to live in a visualized fantasy world is an absolute MUST for the socialist mind.

Typical GWB. Remember when Albore crowed about how Bush was "afraid" to debate him? The silence from GWB was deafening.
UNTIL the debates, when Bush wiped the floor with the moron.
Looks like the "rope-a-dope" strategery succeds again. Game, set, match.

...So for the first possibility to be correct, Saddam would have had to have voluntarily ceased an operation that had been his primary obsession for some two decades and kept no records of having done so. And no Iraqi is making any claims that WMD were destroyed. Seems like a logical defense of Saddam and his buddies.

All of the above are correct.
What other reason can one attribute the Toon's sudden tipid support of GWB's alledged "16 word" lie?
Every breathing, mirror-fogging, informed person knows the answer. The Toon knows that GWB knows WMD's are there and will be made known public. Also, the announcement will be as close as feasible to the DemocRAT's '04 primary/election cycle. The nine DemocRat stooges currently in the race will continue the Bush bashing...then Shaazaam!...the WMD's are "found"...the dem stooges are discredited...then Hildebeast comes to the rescue to save their leftist-socialst-democRAT party.
