Nobody can find the bast*rd, but we know what he's wearing!! What type of footware is he sporting -Gucci or Tods?
To: yonif
How do they know that? If they have all this info about his guerilla fashions and that he was wounded and yadayadayada, why don't "they" know where he is?
Has anyone explained just how many billion dinars 30[? 25?]million dollars is? How many virgins that would buy and you don't have to die to get them?

.....Saddam Hussein is wearing an explosive belt, for use if he is captured by U.S. forces. If he is captured does it mean he didn't use the belt?

Whoever planted the story that Saddam is wearing explosives did us a big favor. This absolutely guarantees he'll be killed, not captured, possibly taking some of our soldiers with him.
Wouldn't be at all surprised if we didn't plant this tidbit ourselves. Get the scenario lined up ahead of time.
Love it!

If this is true, it is good news. I don't think we want to take him alive. Whether our troops kill him or he kills himself doesn't matter. A live Saddam has to be held & tried & there will be a huge argument involving the entire world, about who gets to do those 2 things. Lets hope his ultimate disposal is no more of a problem than was the disposal of his sons.

Actually, if I recall the movie "Hot Shots!" correctly, it wasn't a belt he was into wearing (bonus points to anyone who posts a still from the film with Saddam showing off his tan line).

If true, I wonder how his security team feels about traveling around with a guy who could blow up any minute, intentionally or accidentally.

Tell me the downside of this, please.
What would be poetic is a low-grade ignition that merely cut him in two and cauterized the wounds so that he lingered for several hours.

I'm reluctant to believe this - primarily because I believe Saddam is a coward - cowards are not homicide bombers. They pay other people to do it - but they would never do it themselves.
I believe this is "misinformation" to keep our military from eagerly seeking Saddam - thinking they will be blown up with Saddam.

Powell: Saddam Is 'Piece of Trash' to Be Collected
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Secretary of State Colin Powell on Wednesday called former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein "a piece of trash waiting to be collected" but declined to say how long it may take U.S. forces to find him.
Powell also told Reuters in an interview he currently sees no reason for the United States to give up the authority it and Britain have as "occupying powers" in Iraq despite demands by some nations, notably France, that the United Nations play a central role.
