Prime-time for 'gays'
World Net Daily ^ | August 2, 2003 | Les Kinsolving

Posted on 08/04/2003 9:50:25 AM PDT by NYer

The New York Times' top-of-Page-1 obituary of the widely beloved Bob Hope featured a superb 1982 NBC photographic portrait that was a marvelous memorial.

But just underneath this obit was another full-color photograph that made many marvel at the absolutely tasteless New York Times.

Two males, in front of a third, are shown in a restaurant kissing each other on the mouth. Headlined: "Gay-themed TV gains wide audience."

ABC and NBC, who with CBS used to reach more than 90 percent of all U.S. homes with TV sets, have seen that percentage shrink to the 30s. So, they are now engaging in what Southern Baptist Convention Vice President William Merrill observed: "I believe the new effect is to forward an agenda making homosexuality appear first normal, and then desirable."

On the same day as this New York Times' placement of Bob Hope and the male mouth-kissers on the top of Page 1, the Washington Post reported that AIDS cases in the U.S. are on the rise.

And from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta came the following, as consequences of what NBC and ABC are trying to glamorize into national acceptance:

Dr. Harold Jaffe, director of the CDC's Center for HIV, STD (sexually transmitted disease) and TB Prevention, declared, "The numbers indicate the AIDS epidemic in the United States is far from over.

"New AIDS cases increased from 41,227 cases in 2001 to 42,136 cases in 2002. In the past few years there has been evidence that unprotected sex, sex with multiple partners and other risky sexual behavior has been increasing among gay men, particularly younger ones, causing the number of new HIV infections to begin to rise again in that group. Our biggest concern is what appears to be a resurgent epidemic in gay men.

"Data from 25 states show the number of new HIV diagnosis among gay and bi-sexual men increased 7.1% from 2001 to 2002, marking the third consecutive year that infections have risen in that high-risk group. HIV diagnosis among gay and bi-sexual men have increased by 17.7% since they hit a low in 1999."

The Post also reported, "During a briefing for reporters yesterday, the CDC's Ronald O. Valdiserri, who is co-chair of the conference, called the increase in infections among gay men 'very, very troubling.' He said that the 'findings suggest that the dramatic progress against AIDS ... is beginning to plateau.

"An estimated 850,000 to 950,000 Americans are infected with HIV, but only about one-fourth of them are aware that they are HIV positive, according to the CDC."

Why wasn't the New York Times responsible enough to report this news of sodomy consequences along with the two mouth-kissing males and TV glorification of what is still the leading AIDS spreader, promiscuous male homosexuality?

And why didn't the Times mention that Othniel Askew – who assassinated New York City Councilman James E. Davis in City Hall – did so, as the New York Post reported, because he thought this political rival might expose his HIV?

Just think of all the old timers who read the NYT. They review the obit of Bob Hope and then see the gay love picture. The paper of record? Or the paper that went the way of vinyl records?

I think they're trying make 'gay-rights' movement an extention of the civil rights movement, but it is totally different.

Notice the way they whitewash "Will & Grace" too. It is a decently funny show, but they try to make it like "oh instead of girls and boys holding hands, it's boys and boys." But its not a simple as that. Their lifestyle is where promiscuity and drug use is the norm, not the minority.

I don't know about that. How many seasons have "Will and Grace", and "Dharma and Greg" had?

My husband always watches TV during dinner and it became apparent to me on Saturday evening that the media is preparing an all out blitz to push the gay agenda. First, on the news there was an interview with a moderate Republican couple who expressed disgust with Bush wanting to codify marriage, making it for heterosexuals only. They had a gay child whom they wanted to be able to "marry."
Then there were advertisements for upcoming gay programs on TV, including one that promised to be a "lesbian Sex in the City" complete with scenes of two undressed females making love.
I guess its time to turn off the TV for good except maybe for Fox News.
I am really starting to feel alienated from our culture.

Pillow-biting Tumblebunnies

LOL, I've just added that term to my vocabulary of street jargon. Someone suggested "pickle smoochers" in another post; that works, too.

I want our regular English words back. "Gay" used to be a respectable word, and so did "queen", "fairy", and even "queer." The connotative meaning of these words were highjacked just as surely as the Democratic party was highjacked by the left-leaning lowlife liberal lunatics.

Showtime 3 seemed to have a gayathon this Sunday. Every time I flipped over to see if things had gotten normal, there it was, another gay-themed movie.

Sheesh. I liked it better when gay people were afraid to be discovered. Quieter back then.

The one episode of Will and Grace that I saw was pretty much "in your face." Did I misunderstand what you're saying?

I've never seen the Dharma one. Are they homosexuals, too?

I actually watched Queer Eye for the Straight Guy the other night. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. It looks like any number of those "makeover" shows they have on the tube nowadays. All the advertising was for hair color, makeup, and tampons. I don't think their target audience is men, gay or otherwise.

I certainly won't become a regular viewer, but I have to admit it wasn't as offensive as I thought it would be. Damn, maybe I'm becoming immune to this crap.

That's probably a good thing but, then again, this behavior isn't normal. They're trying to normalize the abnormal and, judging from their success in the past, they're likely to accomplish it. Whoever controls the arts controls the culture.

...i don't know about dharma and greg. i did catch a couple episodes of will and grace. i don't think it was the same in-your-face stuff as what bravo have been airing (but then again, i haven't watched anymore of that one), so perhaps i should have qualified my previous statement with something like "they are in-your-face homo shows that bear SOME resemblance to the...". at any rate, i still believe the bravo shows, the one about being gay in hollywood (on amc) and whatever nbc have planned are doomed...

I as a heterosexual, gun owning, freedom loving, white male am right there with you.

It's ok to be gay they just have to realize that they can't push their minority agenda on the rest of the world.

....just in time for children coming home from school to watch, and an hour or so before most parents return home from work!

Or "Sports and Murders" as I call it. Music is nice, but usually the kids get to watch "Liberty's Kids." Surprising lack of political correctness for a PBS program.

You're probably right. There have been a raft of "metrosexual" threads around here in the past weeks. For those not-in-the-know, metrosexuals are men who say they're straight, but don't act like it.

I'd like to see a show where a bunch of he-men take some wine-drinking, fu-fu wearing pansy and turn him into a regular guy who drinks beer, loves to play and watch sports, considers himself properly dressed if his socks match, and wants to have sex three times a day.

It has been a very long time, indeed, since TV entertainment even attempted to accurately portray American culture. It is never what is, only what they would like to imagine it.
