Thanks - I'm sorry if I was harsh - I've been on the edge with all of this because I see what it is doing to the Presbyterian USA Church

When we first moved here, we did attend a PCA Church for awhile - great people but I have to admit that I did not like the minister at all...... strange man and I got an almost cultish feeling from him - but I absolutely am NOT saying that goes for any other PCA congregation - it is just the one that is closest to us.

We have been attending a non-denominational Church lately - I've really enjoyed the sermons - very thought provoking -

Anglicans Unite in Condemnation

Kelly Burke, Religious Affairs Writer

In a rare show of public agreement, the Anglican archbishops of Sydney and Melbourne have condemned the Episcopal Church for its decision.

Melbourne's Archbishop Peter Watson said yesterday that by appointing Canon Gene Robinson, the American church had effectively separated itself from the rest of the Anglican Communion.

"The American church has turned its back on our unity and must bear responsibility for the pain and disunity that will be felt throughout the communion," he said.

His Sydney counterpart, Archbishop Peter Jensen, who recently returned from the US, where he joined forces with conservative primates from Asia and Africa to protest against the impending appointment, described the decision as a watershed for the church.

The American Anglicans were "turning away from the clear teaching of the scriptures", he said.

#94...Yes it was.

Maybe this will be the case for the Episcopalians now.

Wheat separating from the chaff...

Bishop Duncan's Testimony

The Confirmation Hearing for the Rev. Canon V. Gene Robinson

I am Bob Duncan, the Bishop of Pittsburgh. I wish to speak against the confirmation of Canon Robinson.

I want to speak to you about unconstitutional actions and their consequences, consequences among which are NULLITY, CHAOS and INTERVENTION.

The first sentence of our Constitution reads (in part) as follows:

The Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America. is a constituent member of the Anglican Communion, a Fellowship within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, . upholding and propagating the

historic Faith and Order as set forth in the Book of Common Prayer.

Three phrases I call your attention to:

1. A constituent member of the Anglican Communion;

2. Within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church; and

3. Upholding and propagating the historic Faith and Order. Confirmation of Canon Robinson will be broadly (sweepingly) unconstitutional on these three grounds:

1. Lambeth (1998) and the Primates (2003) have spoken decisively about homosexual behavior as inconsistent with Holy Scripture.

2. Confirmation will be a rejection of the moral and ministry consensus of the universal Church consistent throughout the ages.

3. The action will deny the historic Faith (as to the doctrine of marriage) and Order (as to the doctrine of Apostolicity). This clearly unconstitutional action will be knowing and intentional. Therefore, it will reap at least these three consequences:

1. NULLITY _ From the Arian controversy of the 4 th century a principle was established _ a principle never superseded _ that a convention (council, synod) which acts unconstitutionally (beyond its competence or authority, and in error) may expect all of its actions to be rendered null and void.

2. CHAOS _ That such nullity will free many within the Episcopal Church to disregard all actions of this Convention, its resolutions, canons and its budget.

3. INTERVENTION _ It is precisely an unconstitutional action _ a council acting beyond its competence or authority and in error _ that invites, even demands, intervention from the wider Church, an experience already a part of the life of the Diocese of New Westminster in Canada, and about to befall the Episcopal Church in the United States of America, should this Convention confirm this election.

I thank the Committee for its consideration of these matters

Thank you for posting the update.

It is over. The mainline Episcopalians will reap the whirlwind. They have no respect for Melekh ha Olam in his holiness or his Word.

Put the trumpet to your lips!
An eagle is over the house of the Lord.
Because the people have broken my covenant,
And rebelled against my law.
Israel cries out to me,
O our God, we acknowledge you!
But Israel has rejected what is good;
An enemy will pursue him,
They set up kings without my consent;
They choose princes without my approval....
Hosea 8:1-4

They will begin to waste away
Under the oppression of the mighty king.
Though Ephrain build many altars for sin offerings,
These have become altars for sinning...

I will send fire upon their cities
That will consume their fortresses.
Hosea 8:10-11.

Woe to the worthless shepherd...Zechariah 11:17

It is important that Episcopalians who are imitators of Christ now leave this Sodom behind, not look back. Love the sinner, pray for the sinner...but reject the sin!

It appears to be all about him and his penis now.

Selfishness comes right before sodomy in the new pre-flight checklist for hip seminarians.

Oops, sorry, Bishop Robinson, I meant semenarians.

Nope, he was ordained in California. When he was being voted on for Bishop many people protested because of his Roman Catholic monk status. The Roman Church did a special dispensation for him. Most thought in the liberal church he could not get elected Bishop, because he is too conservative.

Let's see there were allegations of touching and investigated within 24 hours. Was Jesse Jackson part of the investigative team?

Wasn't there an outcry because Cardinal Law stayed in power because of his priests having innappropriate relationships with boys?

Not only that but this man left a wife, lives in sin with another man and he should lead the faithful?

And I get slammed when I uphold my Catholic teachings and raise my children the same.

I have a 14 year old beautiful daughter who tells her friends if I am not still a virgin my mom will kill me ...

May I ask what the rational was for the existance of this church over any other church? I mean did it have a creed that made the founders of this episcopal branch think they needed their own branch of Christianity?

Well, now they've gone and done it, as I originally expected. Lord have mercy.

"When the Episcopalians sneeze, the Lutherans catch cold." Our ELCA convention will be next week, with some expected gay-related action, but no fireworks as in the Episcopal convention. That will come in 2005--I fully expect the gays to get there way in the ELCA also.

The only hope (?) is if the conservative Episcopalians split (starting in October?) and the ELCA mis-leaders get scared that their budget will go down the drain when our conservatives split as well. I almost surely will be part of any such exodus, and I won't be quiet about it.

We all need to pray for and help each other, as good Christians always do.

You weren't harsh....I'm with ya.

This is an emotional time....we clearly see our churches being torn apart.

We've been PCA for 15 years now....

..the Word became very real to me all those years ago...and neither of my pastors...(we recently moved & are attending a small PCA mission church) are cult-like in any shape, form or fassion.

And whenever we travel, we seek out a PCA church, and they have been consistently true to the Word of God and absolutely fine churches.

One of the best PCA churches I was privileged to attend for a couple months is in Santa Monica, California.

Absolutely an alive church with a pastor passionate to preach the Gospel.
