FReep the Runaway from Redistricting Rat Rally at the Capitol(Austin Texas) Saturday(8/9 11:30AM)
Posted on 08/07/2003 1:37:18 PM PDT by DrewsDad
The Democrats are holding a TEXAS ANTI-REDISTRICTING "UNITY IS OUR STRENGTH" RALLY this Saturday(8/9) at 11:30AM at the Texas Capitol South Steps. They want to show their support for the 11 Texas Senate Democrats who ran away to Albuquerque(AlbuTurkeys) in desperate move to keep in place the "shrewdest gerrymander of the 1990s" as long as possible.
It is time to show them how the majority of Texans feel about their childish antics, race-baiting, and obstruction of our democratic process.
If you are as mad as we are, we invite you to join the Heart of Texas(H.O.T.) Chapter of FreeRepublic.com in FReeping these derelict democrats and their supporters.
Bring American Flags, Texas Flags, Signs, Costumes or just bring yourself. We usually have extras of everything.
We'll be meeting on the West side of the Capitol steps.
Date: Saturday, August 9, 2003
Time: 11:00-11:30 Start gathering.
Please pass this on to other interested folk.

Moveon.org and other leftist groups are mobilizing their folks to distort the public perception of their viewpoint just as they did in the redistricting hearings.
Are you going to sit by and watch 1/3 of the Representatives control the great State of Texas through busting quorums and fleeing the state or are you going to stand up and do something about it?

Someone should ask the sheeple who turn out to support the Ds how they feel about the Ds staying in a $159/night hotel. And ask them who's paying for all this. And how they feel about the private plane trip that got them out there...

Join us Saturday 11:30 at the State Capitol to FReep the AlbuTurkeys and their supporters as they rally behind their shameful obstruction of the will of the people and cowardly retreats to other states.

We are paying $55,000+/day so the Rats can attempt to stall this process long enough so it doesn't affect the 2004 Congressional election.

And how they feel about the private plane trip that got them out there... I can just hear them stammering and then the name-calling will begin.
It's so easy and yet so much fun to back a Libbie-Yakker into a corner. You know you've gotten 'em when they start with the name-calling.

So we get a play-by-play on the California Recall and Gay Episcopal Bishop, but we can't get breaking news posting when the Texas Rats announce a rally?

Jim wants the activism threads posted to activism, not breaking news.
Thanks

I had a blast up there in Austin last spring when we went for the Support the Troops Rally at the Capitol and wish I could join y'all again.
However, as an almost-obsessed season-ticket holder of the fledgling Houston Texans, I am attending the first pre-season game at Reliant Stadium on Saturday evening.
Just had to get that shameless plug in there for MY TEAM. :-)

Bet this, the Ds supporters, will be a rent-a-crowd. Hope someone checks into that, and into who paid for their transpo if they show up in mass.

It's so important that as many of us as possible go to these events. The Dems think this is as important as the elections.
Here's some more info:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/959780/posts http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/958095/posts BTW, If the Dems didn't fly to NM as part of their official Party duties, then how can the use of the airplanes be reported to the IRS as an "in kind" contribution to the Texas Democratic Party??
Another thing, I was told something that makes sense - the Dems are *not* able to refuse their per diem if there's a session going on, since it's set by the Texas Constitution (I need to find an official source for this)

Majority Leader Tom DeLay needs HELP!
The Democrats are staging a demonstration in front of DeLay's office and DeLay is asking Republicans to counter demonstrate: Below is his email to me. I've included directions to his office at the end of DeLay's email.
Please forward this to your Texas "Ping" list.
I NEED YOUR HELP!
Runaway democrats Garnet Coleman and Rick Noriega are attempting to mobilize all democrats in the city of Houston in support of their cowardly colleagues in the Texas Senate.
The Harris County Democrat Party, along with the Houston Young Democrats, has organized a protest in front of my office in Stafford tomorrow from noon until 2pm.
I am calling on you today!
I am asking you to please come out to my district office at
10701 Corporate Dr. #118,
Stafford, Texas
. . . . . . . so that we may offer a . . . .counter-protest . . . .. I feel it is extremely important that the truth be told and that the media get both sides of the story.
Please help demonstrate to the entire State of Texas that we Texans do not run from a fight! It is vital that they realize that they were elected to represent the people in Austin not New Mexico or Oklahoma.
Together we can defeat those who try and flee from their constitutional duty.
Tom DeLay
Directions: From Houston go toward Sugar Land on US 59, a couple of miles past Beltway 8 Toll Road is the "Corporate Drive" exit. Take exit turn on Corporate (you can only turn one way) DeLay's office is in the second building on your left.
