Kenyan Bishop attacked for opposing US homosexual appointment

By Dennis Lumiti

A Kenyan Anglican Bishop was yesterday morning attacked in a London street by two Church of England colleagues for opposing the appointment of a homosexual bishop by the US Episcopal Church.

The British clerics accused the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) of taking an uncompromising stand over the controversial appointment of Rev Gene Robinson as bishop of New Hampshire.

The two confronted Bishop Simon Oketch in London where he is attending an international seminar dubbed: "New Wine Conference".

The confrontation began with a heated argument over the appointment of Robinson and almost resulted in an exchange of blows before members of the public came to Oketch's rescue.

Oketch, who is in-Charge of ACK Maseno North Diocese, called the East African Standard Kakamega office from London immediately after the incident.

"I did not have any fear being in the United Kingdom because Anglican clergymen in this country have never indicated their support for this kind of behaviour," he said.

Oketch said he was going to the venue of the seminar when he alighted from a vehicle while dressed in his collar. The religious garb attracted the attention of the church leaders who were walking along the street.

He said when the English clergymen saw him, they asked him to stop and after greetings, inquired which country he was from.

"When I said I was from Kenya, they expressed anger and asked me to discuss an issue with them before I could continue with my journey," he said.

"One of them said they were saddened by the stand taken by the Anglican Church in Kenya and other countries over the appointment of the gay bishop.

"I told them we could not budge on the issue and that we will oppose it to the end because it is un-Christian," said Oketch.

He said his reply did not go down well with his colleagues who then grabbed him and threatened to beat him up before members of the public noticed the commotion and came to his rescue.

He said the clergymen hurled abuse at him over ACK's stand as they were being pulled away by members of the public.

Meanwhile, an American evangelist yesterday condemned the appointment of the practising homosexual as Bishop, adds Francis Nzaywa

Rev Edward Henderson of Study, Observe and Teach (SOT) Ministries in North Dallas,Texas, at the same time said homosexuals should be barred from holding offices in churches around the world.

Rev Henderson said homosexuals cannot claim to have been called to minister over the Church of Christ as they lacked the spiritual, theological and moral right to do so.

The clergyman said this when he gave a keynote speech during a three- day SOT Life Changing Seminar at a Kakamega hotel.

If you look to countries in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe, you will find many people who have been on the threashing floor of persecution, war, or poverty

The Muslims have been murdering African and Asian Christians by the boatload, the poor Kenyan bishop has real poverty and hardship and martyrdom to deal with. Why does he have to put up with spoiled, narcissistic, gay-apologists in his own church on top of the real problems he and his people deal with every day?

It is obvious that the Kenyan bishop and his two antagonists live in completely different worlds -- both physically and spiritually. The good bishop and the people he represents are busy just trying to survive in a hostile world. Then you have selfish people who think that the world revolves around their every whim, and these scoundrels put on an air of moral superiority whenever they encounter someone better than they are. It is sickening to see people who do wrong get rewarded while people who do good are punished. Of course, this is nothing new. I think what is new is the sense of entitlement and moral superiority that wrongdoers express. Some people have no shame.

I am a retired Army officer (artillery, MI, and chaplain). I have the privilege of teaching several classes in Colorado Springs to high school, college, and adults on comparative worldviews (biblical vs secular). As I read the various threads, some impress me as good for illustrating different worldviews. So, using some Army terminology, I mark "incidents" as "SPOTREPS" (spot report) and "descriptions of the current world scene" as "SITREPs" (situation reports). INTREP (Intelligence Report) provides information of an event involving those of the "opposition;" INTSUM (Intelligence Summary) provides more general information. When I get home, I download these SPOTREPs and SITREPs to a database for future use.

Does that help?

YOu also may be interested in the post I placed on the linked thread above oh heck, I will try to retrieve it:

I find this fascinating. In psychiatric inpatient facilities that I known, today the adult unit homosexual and lesbian populations range from 15 to 30 percent. Consistantly. It is interesting to see how the hetrosexuals professionals and staff all glance at each other as we admit yet another homosexual/lesbian. Of course no study could ever be permitted that would explore why this tiny subgroup of 2%or less is using up to 30% of the services. It is the great unspoken of psychiatry today. We are gagged.

It's no surprise. It's still a disorder even though the homosexual caucus of the APA changed the DSM. Simply changing the text doesn't change reality, as your experience shows.

Here's some interesting documentation:

To: Clint N. Suhks

Actually, I wonder if a majority of the American Psychological Association don't agree with you. You're aware, I'm sure (I can send you a link or an article), of how the gay movement rolled the APA in the early 70's and got homosexuality deleted from the APA's diagnotic manual as Step One of their bustin'-out move to get out of the shadows and into the Clinton White House.

Looking at survey data from the APA membership, it would appear that a majority of the older members still believe that the origins of homosexuality are psychological as well as genetic.

The younger members have been propagandized assiduously for over 30 years by homosexual APA members who have taken care to dominate the appropriate committees and control its message on homosexuality, both to the practice and to the public. But the older members still aren't buying it. That refusal to change professional opinions despite all the propaganda and eyewash that's been thrown out there is damning, AFAIC, of the APA/gay message.

Ah yes, the self-serving division 44 where the inmates are running the asylum. I did an impromptu check on their members, out of 15 investigations, 10 were openly homosexual. Division 44 is in charge of making APA policy on homosexuality, there’s a conflict of interest when the committee is disproportionately homosexual.

Thanks for the data, and I suspected some high proportion of gays on the 44 Committee (I believe I've noticed a reference to that group on their site).

David Ehrenstein, a gay fascist propagandist and Hollywood film critic (and self-appointed persecutor of magazine editor Andrew Sullivan), has written a book on the overthrow of the APA. He of course took another point of view, but in between his agitprop-terrorist fulminations on Salon's "TableTalk", his pride of authorship led him to divulge the method by which the APA was turned.

It seems that the principal investigators of homosexuality were, some of them, themselves gay. Gay-rights spear-carriers went to these people and offered to "out" them if they failed to see the light and support the new position rallying around the famous study that laid down the new rationale you outlined for "discovering" that homosexuality was not a paraphilia and not a disorder, if other mental-health criteria were satisfied.

So in short, major support was gathered for the DSM-3 rewrite via plain old blackmail.

Ehrenstein was eloquent in his disgust for gay psychiatrists who were engaged in psychotherapy work on other gays to attempt to reorient them. He said that he felt that it was a) hypocritical of them and b) deeply cynical of them to accept pay and emoluments for doing what the straight community wanted done "to" other gays.

Ehrenstein is a gay essentialist who believes it is the duty of the gay psychiatrist or psychologist to assist the embryonic gay in his development and self-realization. Ehrenstein didn't share his opinion of the practice described by the street phrase, "skinning some chicken".

From The National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH):

New Study Confirms Higher Level of Psychiatric Disorders Among Men and Women Engaging in Same-Sex Behavior

"Two recent studies published in the Archives of General Psychiatry found higher rates of psychiatric disorders among homosexually oriented men and women than among the heterosexual population (Herrell 1999 & Fergusson 1999). Those articles mentioned that a third study, not yet published, had confirmed their findings."

New Zealand Study Suggests Higher Rates Of Self-Harm And Suicidal Behavior For Same-Sex Attracted Individuals

"A study appearing in the March 2003 issue of The American Journal of Psychology found higher rates of non-fatal suicidal behavior among those with homosexual attractions than among the heterosexual population."

Gay Magazine Warns Editor of Psychology Today, "Remember What Happened to Dr. Laura"

"November 29, 2002-- When A Parent's Guide to Preventing Homosexuality was published last month, the book's publisher, InterVarsity Press, placed an advertisement for the book in the popular magazine Psychology Today.

Shortly after the ad appeared, a lesbian activist and psychotherapist named Betty Berzon contacted Psychology Today's editor Robert Epstein to express her outrage.

Berzon was incensed that the magazine would accept an advertisement for A Parent's Guide, a book which views homosexuality as a developmental condition rather than a core identity. Berzon claimed that Epstein's magazine should have refused to print the ad. She threatened to organize a boycott against the magazine, and then followed up by sending out a flurry of postings on gay and lesbian internet sites in order to gain support for an organized boycott...

A story about the conflict was published in the December 10th issue of the gay magazine The Advocate, by columnist Michelangelo Signorile.

"When the editor in chief of Psychology Today reveals his support for so-called conversion therapies to turn gays straight, what does that say about the state of American psychology?" asked Signorile..."

What Homosexuals Say About Homosexuals - Is This Gay Behavior Sick?

""Let´s look at gay behavior as defined by two gays, Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen Ph.D., authors of After the Ball: How America will Conquer its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the 90´s (1989).

In Chapter Six, they outline “ten categories of misbehavior,” drawn from their own experiences, wide reading and thousands of hours of conversation with hundreds of other gays.

•  They say gays suffer from a “narcissistic” personality disorder and they give this clinical description: “pathological self absorption, a need for constant attention and admiration, lack of empathy or concern for others, quickly bored, shallow, interested in fads, seductive, overemphasis on appearance, superficially charming, promiscuous, exploitative, preoccupied with remaining youthful, relationships alternate between over idealization and devaluation.”
