I posted your statement verbatim. If you meant something else by it, you did a might poor job in communicating such. My apologies for not inferring what wasn't there. all it takes is paying attention to the exchange taking place instead of looking for opportunities to take potshots.

To: Elsie To paraphrase a TV game show...... "Show... me... bashing..." To: f.Christian Banning the bible is already here, at least certain "offensive" passages, in some countries. This trend appears to be spreading. The next logical step is outlawing Christianity altogether, then martyrdom. One CANNOT post the TRUTH about certain LDS (AKA Mormon) temple practices on FR! They WILL be deleted! 736 posted on 08/14/2003 9:42 AM EDT by Elsie (Don't believe every prophecy you hear: especially *** ones........) The basis of all dysfunctional things requires a strong misplaced focus and a censorship - denial system ... social autism --- cults !
These are very antithetical to democracy ... freedom --- science too !
Anything esoteric should not be in science or politics !
Conforming reality to a false belief system and forbidding scrutiny should not become law or public policy !
This is the formula - mo of cults - ideology ... esp evolution --- which should not become an established forced cult like it is practiced now !
Carbon 14 dating ... it a total fallacy to conform physical sciences to only a subjective human frame of reference --- evolution has become a form of tribalism --- canibalism --- mindnaping --- slavery !

Please be advised. Many of us have signed-on to an agreement to make and keep the peace on science threads on Free Republic. This initiative is a group effort to avoid thread deletion, moving of threads to the Smokey Backroom and the excessive use of the abuse button --- all of which result from flame wars.
Meeting fire with fire is one definition for a flame war.
If a poster is causing problems on a thread, we first politely ask them to comply. If they refuse and also continue to post in a disruptive or provocative manner, we do not respond.
Please be advised that we have determined no response is the best response to a disruptor. We ask that those of you who have chosen not to sign-on to the agreement to please follow this minimal guideline to avoid the consequences of flaming.

Heck, sometimes I go back and read what I've written, and then even I disagree with what I've said!! LOL. Been there done that.

ICR has some very good information on this topic. I like the site very much. The impact articles are always so informative too. I am glad to see this here.

Thanks. So far this has been more of a smolder war than a flame war. For that I atribute all the hard work done over the last few weeks.

ICR is where I saw the article, and the link (I think) is directly there. I don't remember, though.

Thank you again. I hope to see more on this topic. I think it is very important. It seems others think so too from reading.

Pardon me, Evolutionists idolize chance. I'm an evolutionist, I don't idolize chance, therefore your sweeping generalization is incorrect.
To: js1138
Parables are not fairy tales. Your mind and your heart lead you to the intended moral lesson. Legalistic interpretations of what must be believed are precisely equivalent to the legalistic interpretations of the Law that were replaced by the Great Commandments.
- Genesis is a historical text not a parable. That's the way it is written. A parable does not identify individuals by name and give genealogies.
- How can the Bible teach that one's mind and heart leads one to a moral lesson when it explicitly describes the heart of man as wicked? Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
- I never made any legalistic interpretations of what you should believe, I merely pointed out what made sense. To me it makes no sense to rever a fiction that proclaims it's own veracity. Such a book would not be holy but could only be described as a deception and/or a farce.
- Additionally, no part of the law was ever replaced by the Great Commandments but was articulated by them as the sum of the law. "Love your neighbor" does not negate "Thou shalt not murder" nor does it state: "Thou mayest kill thy neighbor if thou doest it lovingly." The Great Commandment may even be considered a higher standard because if you hate your neighbor, you are as guilty before God as if you had killed him. Legalism is trying to attain righteousness via the law. It's error is in misunderstanding or disbelieving the fact that the law can never justify, it can only condemn.

Let's let EVERYBODY play!!!
CONCEPTION >--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->BIRTH
illustrates a continum.
I believe that everywhere along this line, a creature is human (given that humans were doing the copulating)
Just WHERE do YOU think a creature BECOMES Human along this line?
Likewise........
Something that precedes Man >--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->--->Modern Man
illustrates another supposed continum.
Just WHERE do YOU think a creature BECOMES Human along this line?

I doubt that. There is no end to arguments, doesn't it say something like that in Ecclesiastes? All is vanity and striving after the wind? And of the making of books there is no end and much study wearies the body? Stuff like that?

I'd rather call that hyper-evolution if you think that all these subspecies evolved in less than 6000 years from only a few specimen that were on the ark. Well, that's because you postulate in evolution that it takes millions of years. Like it takes eons to make a stalactite or stalagmite, when it only takes a few. Like maybe a few decades, depending on the size.
