When I was growing up, I was able to use Astrology rather accurately.

I remember a summer school teacher allowing me to make a horoscope for her. I predicted that she was pregnant and would get married in the next.

When I presented her with my horoscope, she almost fainted. She was pregnant and her boyfriend proposed marriage to her the previous evening. I was totally ignorant of her personal life!

Eventually I learned how this works. It is not the stars or the positions of the planets that mattered.

The important thing was the hours of concentration, detailed analysis of all aspects in a horoscope, and the "FAITH" required to make it work.

Good Christians will recognize how important "FAITH" is, and should be able to figure out how it actually worked.

Astrology false!!! The mind reels!

Next, they'll be saying Kent Hovind has a mail-order PhD.

secret is locked in the soul; the stars can give some clues

You have perhaps said it better than I ever could.

" I'd get a financial windfall in October."

Are you hinting that I should send Michael Anthony to drop off a check?

That we have to have a detailed scientific study in order to refute astrology in the 21st century is one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen.

That there are still people who will ignore this powerful refutation leaves me speechless.

"The babies were ...part of a medical study begun in London in 1958....More than 2,000 babies born in early March that year were registered..."

Ohmigosh, I was born in early March in that year! I've always felt well defined by being a Pisces, I've got the earrings (two fish!) to prove it!

I don't really "believe" in Astrology, but as a definer of certain character traits it seems to hold some water. I'm a pisces living with an Aries and a Capricorn, I must say I give in while they butt heads.

Did what I say make any sense? Who knows, all I can say for certain is I am rather surprised at my fellow pisces for failing to prove the "truth" of astrology.

Thanks anyway for posting this, definately something for me to think about.

Frankly, I don’t believe you. First, you are incoherent. Faith in what? Faith that faith works?

Second, as Cromwell said, “Put your trust in God; but mind to keep your powder dry!”

Ha! You aren't old enough to remember the TV series "The Millionaire."

Each week the very wealthy John Beresford Tipton would summon his trusted aide, Michael Anthony, to his luxurious estate where Anthony would be given the name of un unsuspecting person and a cashier's check for one million dollars to be given to them, no strings attached.

Tipton was interested in what people would do with the money and how it would affect their lives.

For myself, being a younger person at te time, that was the first time I had ever heard the term "cashier's check," and to this day whenever I see the phrase I think of Michael Anthony. Ha!

"Any Free Republic believers?"

Find the the signs. . . 'air, earth, water, fire' as basic personality descriptions/types very helpful when trying to understand other people;whether they are your parents, children, mate/spouse, employer/employees or just trying to understand, better. . .ones friends;

. . .or anyone for that matter, that warrants your interest.

The four classifications and their combinations, are no more mysterious than making sense of, a Myers/Brigg personality analysis.

A 'Sagittarius'; of course :^)

I have studied astrology for years, and there is more to it than the sceptics want to admit, and less to it than found in the newspaper columns.

It does take a lot of time and energy to understand. One can predict principles, not specifics.

An example here... interesting aspects this coming Aug 27th make the new moon then an interesting time, with some pretty unusual events and incidents. Have any of you noticed the recent rash of bizarre head accidents, involving elevators and an amusement park ride? I relate it to the present conjunction forming between Mars and Uranus.

Also, watch this fall, around October 9th... Might be some setbacks, restrictions, losses, etc for the US and George W. Bush around that time.

The time period between late Sept thru November, centered around Oct. 9th, is going to be interesting because of a Saturn transit to the US chart... I dunno, though. i am not psychic, and do not believe in using astrology to make money from people. The Bible says it is wrong to do so.

But, i find it interesting to study and then see how it works out. I think it is a like a peek into God's plan for our world, but we can only "see through a glass darkly"

I bow to age and wisdom. Unfortunately, my early TV experience basically consisted of "Gilligan's Island".

Lets not forget Jean Dixon. Especially the STAR tabloid headline...
"JEAN DIXON SAYS NIXON WILL NOT RESIGN" which hit the news stands the week Nixon resigned.

Years later her publicist put out a claim that she HAD actually predicted his resignation.

LOL! Well, those of us who were kids watching TV in the 50's have a lot of obscure memories. I was amazed to find out that "Schoolhouse Rock," a rather lame series of educational cartoons, was a cult classic with my son's set.

When my son was little, I bet I heard that darn "Conjunction Junction" about a bazillion times. Ha!

"That there are still people who will ignore this powerful refutation leaves me speechless."

Depends on what 'shelf' you find your information, perhaps.

The not-so, "Amazing Randi" has written volumes 'proving' that psychic talents do not exist - you might read it; and believe it. . .

Does not make him right, however. . .
