Poor dog.

If they are out of control enough to shoot a police dog, they are out of control enough to shoot a fellow officer or a bystander.
Somebody needs a new career.

Dumb ass trigger happy cops are now shooting their own dogs?!

After a verbal altercation, the man ran from the deputies and broke into a neighboring house. The deputies sent the dog after him, and as it approached, the man raised his hand and deputies opened fire, Pena said. Why the &*%$ did they shoot THE DOG? What a bunch of idiots!
Just another reason to stay away from LA. The cops are so stupid they kill their own.

Compliments of Sheriff Lee Baca, A-hole extraordinaire. This sheriff has an IQ just slightly north of Rodney King. He consistently exceeds his annual budget. He consistently supports increased taxes so he can have more money. He thinks that people should gladly pay the tripling of the car tax while he flies around in his sheriff's dept airplane. They don't make them any dumber or more greedly than this guy.

What did they expect the guy to do when a dog is let loose on his ass?
I suspect anyone would raise their arms in some way to protect themselves, sandal in hand or not.

If a citizen kills a police dog, they are charged like they killed a cop. Will these morons be charged?

Marko, a 9-year-old Belgian Malinois, had been a service dog for six years, said Lt. Patrick Maxwell, who supervises the sheriff's K-9 unit. A highly placed source within the LAPD K-9 Unit has told the LA Times that Marko was a participant in a long-term crooked narcotics protection ring, and was about to turn state's evidence. Apparently, Marko had worn a collar wire and accumulated seven hours of damning testimony against eleven LAPD human and canine officers, who apparently set-up the parolee in this case. Marko had in fact been mauled last month by the then-indicted and now-convicted "Rusty", a former narcotocs K-9 sargeant who is currently serving 2-5 Whacks With A Rolled-Up-Newpaper.
