For non-Texans, a lawsuit was filed in Houston to remove a bible from a memorial display at the Houston Civil courthouse. There is little doubt that it is a coordinated effort by the left to pile on the recent 10 Commandments case down in Alabama.

Outside, in, or on, no difference to my mind. If it's good enough for the SCOTUS...

No, only symbols that condemn Christians and the morality they stand for should be displayed at government buildings....

Nope. This is Amerika. Religious people are mentally insane. We must remove all traces of mental insanity. /sarcasm

If the Pope stood in the Alabama courthouse, would it be allowable for a Roman Catholic public official to bow down and kiss the pope's hand? Just thought I'd ask.

"Poll: "Should a religious symbol be placed outside a government building?" Not a bad question but I have abetter one:
"Should the ACLU be stuck up some liberal lawyer's hiney for all eternity?"
I know , I know it is at best an exercise in redundacy but someone ought to post this poll on CNN and list the results.

Define a "religious symbol" for me please.
I recall a story about a Jewish man who had watches in the window of his establishment. A tourist brought in a watch for repair and the man told him he couldn't fix it. "Why?, asked the tourist.
"Well, said the Jew, "I don't fix watches."
"Then why do you have the watches in the window?"
"Well", he said, "I am the Rabbi responsible for performing circumcisions. What would you suggest I put in the windows?"
Are watches now a religious symbol?

Phony poll alert It's phoney because I would answer "no" to the religious symbol question but "yes" if they asked about putting "the Bible" or the 10 Commandments" on display. You can tell a liberal wrote the poll question, because they are only able to think in terms of "symbols" and have no understanding whatsoever of "content" or history.
Yes, I'm against putting a cross or a magen david or a new moon on the courtyard. I'm also in favor of putting the Bible or the 10 Commandments in the courtyard. If you could show me that our understanding of liberty comes from the Koran, I'd be willing to put that in the courtyard too, but I think you'd be rather hard-pressed to demonstrate that.

. .There is little doubt that it is a coordinated effort by the left to pile on the recent 10 Commandments case down in AlabamaIf you do a search here on FreeReublic you will see that the Alabama challenge was not the first perpetrated by these groups intent on stripping all things Christian from public base on the lie of separation of church and state". This is going on all over the country and it was being done once place a time, quietly until Judge More said "NO MORE".
Kay Staley, who filed the suit here in Houston was on Pat Gray's show this morning and could not logically defend her position. Like the woman in Alabama who sued Judge Moore she is a willing tool of these socialist groups who are seeking to strip Americans of their rights with no basis in law.
The justices who are making law from the lie of separation of church and state should be removed. Supreme court and other appointed judges cannot be allowed to MAKE the laws. They don't serve for life - only for a period of good behavior. They can and should be replaced.

This lawsuit has a zero chance of success.
Though it'll be entertaining to watch.. While those in the black robes might enjoy activisim on the bench, none of them want to be viewed as a book banner. :)

A giant statue of Buddha? A picture of Mohammed? Wiccan symbols? Shinto? All others? All of the above? Some of the above? None of the above?
