Thanks for starting this great thread.

The day after the 2000 Presidential elections, FR went from a nice place to visit for me to my lifeline of sanity, truth and how to battle the attempt to steal our nation.

I believe that if not for Free Republic as a place to meet, to learn and plan our battles, we might have lost our nation.

9/11/01 really proved the value of FR to reality and truth and not the left wing mediot spin on what happened. We knew who engineered the mass murder of innocent Americans, not the spin from the mediots.

I seldom watch even Fox News now. I stopped watching ABCNNBCBS during the 92 elections. I know that I can spend time in the money and afternoon/evening on FR and really find out what is happening. Many times we have news before the rest of the world does, like our ill fated shuttle that was torn apart that sad day. A thread here just discussing the shuttle's expected arrival turned into an incredible news source.

I have shared recipes and received wonderful recipes. I have met new friends and lost friends due to the grim reaper. Some friends have lost family members, and we help them to get through that terrible situation. Other friends and their family members have been critically ill or injured. Our prayers seem to have had a positive impact on the outcome of many of these freepers via our prayers and prayer lists.

Everyday, I learn new and important alternatives and answers on Free Republic. The knowledge level of some of our Freepers in their areas of expertise is incredible.

Years ago when in my early thirties I asked a wonderful mentor why so many people were depressed, hostile, angry and frustrated. His answer was burned into my memory.

He said that most people were depressed, hostile, angry or frustrated because life had dealt them some severe, some moderate and a lot of petty problems and road blocks. Since they didn't have any alternatives to overcome these road blocks they became more depressed, hostile, angry and frustrated. What made it worse for them, they didn't know where to go for help or even how to ask for it.

For most of our problems in life that we haven't caused ourselves, we can find alternative solutions from our fellow freepers if we just ask or just state the problem on a post.

Jim Robinson created an incredible Resource for Conservative Living when he started Free Republic. That resource needs our continued help re monthly donations and donations during each Freepathon.

If you don't donate monthly or quarterly to Free Republic, please make it a habit. None of us want to be without Free Republic.

Thank you.

It just keep chugging along.
I thought it would be a good holiday thing to do.
So far it has been from one extreme to the other.

Free Republic has provided the proof that there are thousands of intelligent conservative activists in this country. It has provided the premier forum for conservative ideas and suggestions to be put to the test.

Not only have I had the pleasure of getting to know many like-minded individuals, but the exchange of ideas and information has certainly made me better informed on nearly every issue.

Sometimes there is a lot of noise and fluff to wade through to get to the meaty issues, but there is no meaty issue that escapes this forum. And the expertise that Freepers offer to each other is nothing short of remarkable.

But the very best thing about Free Republic is that it has exposed the media. Bias and outright lies are instantly spotted.

Walter Cronkite would never have been known as "the most trusted man in America" if Free Republic existed at the time.

The Rosetta Stone is nice as far as it goes.

Free Republic gives the rest of the story.
