Hey, it worked when Davis spent 10 million to oust Riordan so he could run against Simon.
To: socal_parrot
Antbody who has been watching Hannity and Colmes knows that this was the plan. Colmes has been hyping McClintock since day one. LOL

Prepare to get flamed by myopic McClintonites who would rather keep Davis or Bustamente in office than support anyone else except their Quixotic candidate.

Hey, it worked when Davis spent 10 million to oust Riordan so he could run against Simon. Glad to see you are swallowing media myths. Riordan would have lost far worse than Simon, and Davis' 10 million certainly hrut Riordan, but Simon beat him by 18 points. Simon would have won anyway by at least 5 points.

(It's time for Arnold to stop splitting the Republican vote and step aside for the good of the party)
To: socal_parrot
However, if McClintock persists with his spoiler campaign and throws the election to Bustamante, it is doubtful he will have any political capital for a future race. It may be that McClintock wants to see if Arnold will fade or stumble bigtime. However, if Arnold doesn't, and McClintock stays in, then the above statement is undoubtedly true.

The Sac Bee's Daniel Weintraub said that the Indian Gaming Lobby may spend up to $4 million to keep McClintock in the race and split the Republican vote.

Glad to see you are swallowing media myths. Riordan would have lost far worse than Simon, and Davis' 10 million certainly hurt Riordan, but Simon beat him by 18 points. Simon would have won anyway by at least 5 pointsCase in point.

If McClintock stays in this race he (Along with Bill Simon) will be known as the poltical equivelent of Marcia Clark...
They will have both been responsible for LOSING a SURE thing.
And McClintock will be the LOWEST of the LOW because he will be repeating the SAME stupid mistake that was made less than a year ago.
It's absolutely AMAZING to see how much in denial McClintock and his RINO supporters are in.

If Bustamante wins, be sure to thank your CA FR Friend who was too stubborn to get it. We love 'em, but they're killing us.

Davis taps Panetta to help fix state's budget problems

By Michelle Guido Mercury News
Gov. Gray Davis today asked Leon Panetta -- former White House budget director and chief of staff to President Bill Clinton -- to help fix the state's long-term budget problems. Panetta's charge is to convene a bipartisan group of economic, financial and budget experts who would help the state's leaders undertake the massive job of reforming the state's budget structure. It's a tall order, especially since economists have said the state would be forced to either raise taxes or make even deeper cuts. But Panetta, who is director of a public policy institute bearing his name in Seaside, said he's up to the challenge, even with the recall challenge facing the governor. Panetta said today he plans to start gathering the participants right away and get to work shortly after the recall vote Oct. 7. And he expects to present Davis with the group's recommendations before the governor's State of the State address in January, provided he survives the recall. ``To be credible, this team must be bipartisan and must include key budget and finance experts,'' said Panetta, who will serve as the group's chairman. ``I think it should be made clear that we will be prepared to begin the serious work after the recall is held.'' |

On the radio top-of-the-hour news there was a brief interview w/ Bill Press, of all people, who stated quite emphatically that McClintock was the only real conservative running in the recall. Knowing who and what Press is, it left a bad taste in my mouth because it's obvious why he said it.
To: socal_parrot
I figure many of the McClintock supporters would not vote for anyone else in the election anyway. They have their boy running, and that will draw them to the polls. This will assure that the recall succeeds because they will all support the recall. Arnold will not be hurt, and having McClintock to his right makes him more palatable to the liberal Californians.
Btw, if McClintock were a Democrat and lived on the other side of the country, his name would be Mark Green.

Hogwash.
There comes a time when personal ambition must be set aside and self-affirming but false justifications for ones candidacy need to be reexamined.
That's right. Arnold should reevaluate his candidacy. LOL
No loyal Republican should be supporting and voting for a liberal like Schwarzenegger or Bustamonte.
Conservative and moderate Republican voters, with help from independent voters can get McClintock elected. Don't believe the hype from the leftwing.

"Hey, it worked when Davis spent 10 million to oust Riordan so he could run against Simon."I see it, you see it and there's a whole lot of others here that see what's happening to. But it seems that the McClintock supporters have gone into that kool-aid sipping true-believer mode.
Anyone notice how accomadating the liberal media has been towards McClintock and Bustamante while trying crucify Arnold?
My prediction. If Arnold leaves the race (unlikely) expect Tom McClintock to be re-labeled as "ultra-conservative" Tom McClintock by the media, within a matter of hours after the news.
