Didn't President Bush pass on a couple of debates?

Yeah, the term "RINO" has lost any meaning it ever had.
To: LisaAnne
Tom Sullivan (on for Rush today) said that Arnold had recently spent 45 minutes answering questions from political reporters. Or are we to believe that national and California political reporters only lobbed softball questions to the "chicken"?

I guess McClintock and the supporters he has left really do want Bustamante as governor. I'm starting to think you're right about that. They're like children. These threads feel like a kid's chatroom.
It's very probably making FR look comical to the DUers and their ilk.

Didn't President Bush pass on a couple of debates? He might have passed on a few of the early primary debates, but certainly not the general election debates against Gore.

It's a tried and true maxim that if you are ahead, you don't want too many debates. Arnold probably has some internal polls that show him out in front. Unless that changes, he'll only do that one debate. It's that simple, and every other one of the candidates would do exactly the same if they were in Arnold's position.

Perhaps McClintock supporters would cool the rhetoric if you RINO supporters would stop spewing your venom.

The only thing we know about Arnold is that he is in favor of Abortion on Demand, Favors Civil Unions for Gays, Supports stricter Gun Control, has participated in orgies with men and has done drugs.
Why else do you need to know about him?
To: kellynla
Mr. Schwarzenegger is planning to avoid this afternoon's televised recall debate (4-6 p.m.) and says he will participate in only one of the several other debates that are being scheduled for the weeks to come. Boy that sounds familiar. Remind you of anyone? Here's a hint...he's getting recalled ;-) Never thought Arnold would be a debate chicken. I was really hoping that he would FINALLY nail down his position on the important issues this state is facing...

When are you Mc Clintock guys going to give it up? It ain't going to happen. Save your bullets for Boxer in 04.
To: kellynla
Why would anyone want to appear on the same stage with six clowns? They are going to spend the two hours saying "where is Arnold", and nobody will be watching. I can hear Arianna now and and it hurts to think about it.
To: focusrink
I'm confused too. Shouldn't candidates be selected based on their command of the issues rather than their number of groupies? I thought so too. However, in this election it appears we are supposed to abandon that principle and base our vote on the very thing we have accused the Democrats of doing - polls and focus groups. Its all so confusing

I'm not an either-or supporter ('specially since I don't live in CA). It was just a statement of principle -- I think it's lame for politicians to only participate in debates when they get the questions beforehand.

"It's a tried and true maxim that if you are ahead, you don't want too many debates." And look what one debate got the Dimwit Davis...a RECALL! Now if a person has convictions, a platform and proposals the smart and ethical thing to do would be to participate in a public forum and show that he/she has the courage under fire to debate them...something that "Mr. Hide & Seek" apparently does not have. Point, Game, Set, Match! Hey, Ahnold, come out, come out wherever you are!

We're not the "RINOs", those who abandon the Republican Party because some candidate doesn't give them 100% of what they want are the "RINOs".
And we're not the one's "Spewing the venom". McClintock supporters are. As soon as ANYTHING negative (Or construed that way) comes about about Arnold, it's PLASTERED all over here by McClintock supporters.
Plus, every single Arnold supporter I've seen has stated they would support McClintock if they seriously thought he could win (Which he can't). But every single McClintock supporter I've seen has done just the opposite...They REFUSE to support Arnold.
But those are just the simple facts...
