You'd think listening to all the news reports out of Iraq, that things are out of control in Iraq.

Joe Klein in Time magazine going so far as to ask, "Who is losing Iraq?"

I don't know, Joe. But I know this much: We aren't.

This guy, Galt has to be a part of the "Hate America First" crowd under cloak of some Islamic regime. Either that or his IQ has not risen to room temperature.

Furthermore, I doubt he served in the military, much less in a combat situation.

Finally, I wouldn't let this dork fill up my car at the fuel pump. He's so clueless that he'd ask me to pop-the-trunk to "fill 'er up with diesel?"

Ann, I like your logic in trying to convey a normal thought process to John Galt. You can see my responses and others. This guy is totally clueless. If I were his parent, I'd drag him down to the Marine Corps enlistment office and kick his wimpy ass into serving his country. I'm retired (not by choice) but I'd serve my country in a combat zone in a heartbeat.

Galt,

Thank you, I have been looking for an alternative to HBO. Hey you are it. If you need help with your website I can help. Your entertainment value is untapped. Dude lets get rich. Wait this stuff don't sell. Carry on my mistake.

regards

All

Never done "all" so If I screwed up, then someone let me know. Still trying to figure out the HTML protocol.

Regardless, this guy Galt is a clueless dolt. I, and I am sure many FReepers have given up responding to his illogical gray-matter-synapsis(es). I'm thinking he's just another ill-informed, DU dope that cannot reason the calculus of "cause, effect, and consequences."

I'm off this thread; done for the evening. Gonna relaod some .357 defence mechanisms.

If you can't see the danger in Cavuto's liberal rational, God Help Us.

Okay. I'll make arrangements to supply you with a sniper rifle; then you figure out how to get in a combat zone and protect our guys. I think Sec/Def Rumsfeld has a better plan than you do. Wanna put your lazy liberal ass on the line; punk?

I'm 53, and I'd work the line with my American soldiers. I'm a good shot but could not want to march 6 miles with 40-55 pounds on my back.

JohnGalt, I'd suggest you reread the article. While Cavuto does expend some energy touting the newer, freer Iraq, his main complaint is about the selective reporting of the events in that far-away land. It is right to report about casualties and deaths, but wrong to not report any of the positive news.

Cavuto is commenting on a subject he is eminently qualified to analyze: unbalanced news reporting from most of the media. Him being a "tv industry type", I'd say he deserves to be heard on the subject.

Pubbies protect and defend. Dims detract and pretend. Remember, Democrats are the ones who get into "unwinnable" wars cause they don't have any idea what foriegn policy is. It's "unwinnable" if they can't figure out how to win. It has to be so in order for them to save face. Forbid the thought they'd have to admit they are wrong about something. And afterall, liberals can never admit to being wrong. The closest thing they'll ever come to it is to posit that they may not have thrown enough money at it yet.

That brings me to a point. If Democrats think we're losing in Iraq, then they should be wanting to throw more money at the problem. Instead they want to defund it. When do Democrats ever defund anything. They want the money to go to anything but the President's foriegn policy in order to cripple the war effort it would seem. And while they whine and complain that the War is busting the budget, they attempted a vote in the Senate to bust the budget tonight for one of Clinton's pet reasons for playing Robin hood Marx.

The one thing we can count on is hypocrisy and duplicity from the Democrats. And that is precisely what we're getting between whines and screams that none of their 9 idiots can get any traction cause nobody will pay attention to them. I suppose to them it's better than quietly admitting that they're all over the tube - they can't be escaped save by turning it off and most of America has preferred to turn them off. We're all sick of them - fed to the teeth. They know it - expect the whining to get louder.. The war is won in Iraq. And it's being won here too. The two situations even look similar.

You quoted Cavuto, I quoted you. I didn't see any thing to take issue with in what Cavuto said because I don't see it a zero-sum game.

You take the juvenile position that just because the interests of the US are not brought up that Cavuto puts the interests of Iraq above those of the US, and imply that our actions in Iraq are not in our best interests. My issue with you is that it foolishness to think that leaving Iraq as anything other than a stable, free nation is in our national interests.

Hey, read your history. We defeated Nazism. We defeated Communism. And we'll defeat terrorism. People like you are wusses--you lack the necessary toughness. Now is not the time to turn tail and surrender--which would only invite more terrorism. The enemy has to pay a price--the conquest of an important Arab country sends a huge message to Islam--don't mess with us or else you will pay a price higher than you're willing to pay.

The question is not "should american soldiers die for a free Iraq", it's "should american soldiers FIGHT for a free Iraq". Is liberty worth fighting for even if it is outside our borders? I think it is. Should we just close our borders and pretend that the bad people of the world will just go away? Hmmm... if we do they will come knocking sooner rather than later. The more freedom there is in the world the safer and more prosperous we all are.
