South Park is great, but sometimes I do have to censor it. And this Tech Central Station is also wonderful, every article I see posted from there is excellent, and touches on some subjects ignored or overlooked elsewhere.

Great post!

"Yeah, you know we believe in equality for everybody and tolerance and all that gay stuff. But dude, f#ck you."
"Seriously."

I know a number of Republicans who are these so-called South Park Reps. They are not very religious, and they tend to indulge in the same pleasurable activities as many Dems. They simply believe in the less government interferes with citizens, the better off the country is. Of course they are right, but bleeding-heart liberals need a cause, and the idea that most people are better off without gov help is anathema to them.

South Park is great because the geriatric hippies of the left don't understand that it is they who are being lampooned!

A lot of GenX-ers fall into the South Park Republican category. My sister, bro-in-law, and myself (all GenX) all classify ourselves as SPRs. My hubby, solidly in the Boomer age range (we're 12 years apart), still has hung on to a lot of his lefty 60's ideals. Makes for interesting dinnertime conversation ::lol::.

Anyone see the one where Mr. Hand decided to try and get fired from the school system, so he brought in his "love slave" to class every day? A very crude episode, but his little speech at the end of the show was priceless. No matter what he did, (the gerbil scene about did me in..) he finally snapped. Something to the effect of "When are you people going to realize that acceptance and tolerance are not the same thing?"
It was priceless...

This article is a breath of sweet fresh air.

I wouldn't say that. It's about a year old.

I remember Sally Quinn used to say that the Republicans in DC were more fun to party with. They'd get drunk, eat meat and smoke without being so angst ridden about the environment, et al.

I was almost embarrased to laugh at it. Gere must have been cringing at this one.

It was a big hit here at the time. The date's at the top of the page. Maybe a search will turn up the original comments.

I think one thing this essay gets wrong is that Bloomberg isn't a republican at all. He's ruining NYC just like any dem would do or has done in the past.

P.J. O'Rourke, in an old (ancient?) National Lampoon, penned a piece on the "Pants Down Republicans". Those who vote the conservative ticket, but are likely to be found in the hot tub with champagne, Quaaludes, and naked girls.

I think I finally found a label that fits me. I'm a thirty-three-year-old who loves heavy metal, greasy burgers, wrestling, "R" movies, women in bikinis, free speech and a beer from time to time. I also believe in God, the promise of America, limited government, personal responsibility, the Golden Rule, ethics, morals, bounderies, friends and family. I believe in progress while remembering that sometimes the old ways are still the best. Wow - I'm a South Park Republican!

Doo-doo-doo, da-da-do-do-wow!
There's a place called the rainforest that truly sucks a$$
Let's knock it all down and get rid of it fast
You say 'save the rainforest', but what do you know?
You've never been to the rainforest before!
Getting Gay with Kids is here
To tell you things you might not like to hear
You only fight these causes 'cos caring sells
All you activists can go f--- yourselves.

Someday if we work hard boys and girls..
There'll be no more rainforests left in the entire world..
Getting Gay with Kids is here
To spread the word, and bring you cheer
Getting Gay with Kids is here
Lets knock down the rainforest, whaddaya say?
It's totally gay, It's totally gay!
