If McClinton stays in the race,.......
There are lines, and you're getting dangerously close to crossing one.
To: ambrose
If McClintock can't possibly win a statewide race in California, then why would you want him to run for the US Senate? In a state-wide race, he would have much more time to raise $$$, paint Boxer as an extremist, and wouldn't have Arnold to go against... In a short race, with so many candidates, it's MUCH tougher for Tom to win, IMO.

Several here have said that they would support Bustamante if McClintock dropped out, looks like they aren't kidding.

Fox News was reporting tonight that these numbers match up closely with the internal polls taken by both the Republicans and Democrats.

Bump to your post #84Thanks... Someone else posted, on another thread, that there are no circumstances that the McClintock supporters can see Davis losing the recall AND Tom winning the election. None... So, the choice is clear... Davis/Bustamante OR Arnold. Arnold isn't going anywhere. That's a guarantee.
I just don't get it.???

Damn right she's crossing the line. She's associating McClintock's good name with that of a rapist/murderer.

Who do you think the CA GOP party is grooming to run for the Senate against Boxer anyway?
Dreier will get the nod over Issa and Simon and Tom or Tony Strickland or Binny Boom Botz, even tho they each will have more than likely been offered backing to run against Boxer by the state GOP.
The CA GOP leadership will stab any conservative in the back faster than the Fat Lady sang when Arnie entered the race., imo . ;-)

Simply stunning.

We need to see the numbers in the head to heads between Bustamante and Arnold, Bustamante and McClintock, and Bustamante and Ueberroth. Since they asked how people would vote on #2 if McClintock dropped out, I wonder if they asked #1 with that same condition. Same for if Ueberroth dropped out.
I'm glad McClintock is staying in the campaign to the end, but, if he were to drop out, I don't know if I could vote to recall Davis, since I think Bustamante is worse than Davis. IOW, I think there may be some McClintock supporters who would prefer to keep Davis (and, of course, vote for someone else on #2) than to recall him and gamble on the 33-31 Schw-Bust result of #2. Because McClintock stays in the campaign, his supporters are more enthusiastic about supporting #1 and actually going to the polls because there is a chance that they can elect their favorite candidate.

Oh, please... I'm sure she regrets it and won't repeat it.
It IS difficult to not respond when we see Arnold's name massacred as evilly as possible 24/7...

The Republicans can band together and take the state from the Dems or they can duke it out and let the Dems keep it.
To: Tamsey
Thanks for the ping! Doesn't the Field Poll skew left? I'm waiting for the poll that comes out tomorrow. This utter lack of polls means that the Dems are hurting more than they want to let on, I think.

He has no traction; he has no money; he has no chanceExactly why he should pack it in. A good guy, his heart's in the right place on nearly every policy he espouses, but he'll be viewed as this year's "Perot". He'll be finished for good.

John and Ken on KFI 640 Los Angeles addressed the internal polling numbers on their show today. Bustamante's camp shows about the same as the Schwarzenegger camp with regard to his own numbers, around 32% Schwarzenegger polls around 25% in the Bustamante polling, but around 35% in his own. McClintock pulls about 12-15% in these polls.
They did not provide numbers from McClintock's internals.
