No need to be rude. You think it is going to be any kind of cakewalk to have a pub gov of California. The state is going to hell faster than there is time to recover is one way of looking at it. And the pubs seem determined to split the vote and get Cruz elected. But don't be so damn rude.

The support Arnold is getting from Republicans would shift to McClintock (Although not all because many would realize the simple fact that McClintock can't win in Red California, so they would simply stay home). And the support Arnold is getting from moderates, independents and free-thinking rats would go elsewhere. Or not vote at all. And Bust-a-move would win in a walk. We all know this to be true.

It wouldn't even get that far... McClintock, alone, would NEVER be able to bust the Davis Juggernaut. I say juggernaut, because that's what it would be, with the media, the Clintons, Holywood, the liberal-leanings of the state, all working against McClintock. He would get pounced into submission, and Davis would survive the recall, hands down.

The other juggernaut in this race is so big that he DOES get attention, he can counter all of these lies because he already has a large support network and name recognition, and he can't be painted as an extremist.

Like most of you, I like McClintock's policies far more than Arnold's, but I like Arnold's far more than Cruz, and taking a pragmatic view on the race, if Tom isn't close to Arnold in polling a week before the election, he should step aside.

Are you paying attention to the yes/no numbers? They've tightened a bit since the last Field Poll...

Tom will not win. He should make a deal with Arnold to get an endorsement for the Senate and then SHUT UP. If McClinton stays in the race, and the Republicans lose, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that the Republicans will nominate him for the Senate seat.

That may seem like a fair assessment, but I think he'd get even less.

Right now his numbers are being hoisted by those who still think he can win.

I think it's safe to say that come down to election day many of those would do the right thing and vote for the man who can beat bustamante.

If McC stays in he'll probably get no more than 5%, which could be just enough to help bustamante win.

Wishful thinking does not change the electorate's demographics.

And I doubt God is going to miraculously change it.

Perhaps it would be wise to pray for some wisdom about therefore what.

If McClintock can't possibly win a statewide race in California, then why would you want him to run for the US Senate?

"Right now his numbers are being hoisted by those who still think he can win. "

And those in the Rat camp that want to foster that belief, IMHO....

As a conservative, I still don't see any benefit to an Arnold victory. He's ignorant of the issues and liberal. Bustamante is liberal, but at least he showed up for the debate.

You can't possibly be serious, can you?

08/15/2003 Field Poll

The first public poll since the recall campaign began is out, and for Gray Davis, the news is terrible.
The Field Poll says the recall is ahead
58-37 among likely voters and
57-34 among all registered voters.

VS.

09/09/2003 Filed Poll

Field poll to be released Tuesday:
YES on Recall 55% NO on Recall 40%

Mcclintock's up to 13%? At this rate it'll take him 4 months to take the lead. That's much longer than the "vote-for-Mcclintock-even-if-it-means-a-bustamante-win" crowd said it would take. What gives?

You've got to wonder how much of that is McClintock showing real traction, vs. receiving the old "Simon vote" when he withdrew. Either way, it's statistically insignificant in a truncated race.

"David Dreier, a GOP Congressman from California who is a representative of the Schwarzenegger campaign, just completed an interview on Chris Matthews' "Hardball."

Have any of you ever seen this guy speak? He's fantastic! I would bet that he would crush Boxer if he decided to run for Senate.
