(Arnold opposes the driver's licenses, but he also wants to lobby DC to legalize Illegal Aliens. Ah.)
To: RobFromGa
Exactly.
Wouldn't it be fascinating to know how Arnold voters would vote if Arnold were not in the race.
Without McClintock, Busty gained 1%.
If Arnie were gone, would McClintock win? At this point, I doubt it.
Any leading Republican should make a decision at about the 10 day mark what they will do. That will give the other candidate a chance to react to an influx of supporters.

Taken before or after Arnie skipped the debate?

Good one!

You know I am beginning to wonder why anyone wants to be gov of California,,,let alone a pub. I think we might be better off if Cruz gets elected and shows his colors, then there might be a backlash against dems for a generation. Whoever is gov is gonna have a hellish time, and not be reelected.

Biggest gains (statistically)
If you look at where they were to where they are now - % gain.
UB first
Tom
Bustamante
Arnold
Any statisticians out there?
Quite a few undecided must have decided because the top four candidates all gained a few points.

He's going nowhere. He was on with John Gibson this afternoon and he seems serious. He want's to come in as a 'crisis manager' for a three year stint and accept no pay. I don't think he's going to drop out, and that is why he's running as an independent, so he can't be pressured to.

Of course they would, that's why they're the real "RINOs".
To: StriperSniper
Uberroth is not running as an Independent?

Do you get the impression that Arnold's supporters would sit on their hands and not vote for McClintock? I've seen precisel the opposite stated here in the various threads.

Uberman and McNader both need to go bye bye.
The absentee ballots are out and they start doing damage as of this moment in this race.
A three was split verses a united Democrat candidate is a real problem.
Both Uberman and McNader will find themselves out of political capital if Arnold loses this race. They are digging themselves a hole that Republicans won't ever forget.
They are not building supporters, but are at this point building future adversaries to any candidacy they are going to go for.
If they don't leave this race pronto, I know I won't forget and will always work against those two in any future campaign.
Conservatives don't need spoilers in their camp screwing the election toward Democrat hacks...whether due to unreasonable principles or because they are glaze eyed followers.
Time to grow up Tom and Peter, get out of this race and stop handing this to the Democrats. You are about to be hated for good by a majority of voters who don't want Democrats to win this seat.

I'll vote for whomever can defeat Bustamante, be it Schwarzenegger or McClintock. Either of the two would be a welcome shake-up in California. I'd prefer McClintock, but am prepared to vote for Arnold.
However, if McClintock can't get on top of Schwarzenegger in the last weeks and refuses to drop out based upon principle, he might find himself the *only* 'Conservative' left in California.
The borders will be flooded with departing Californian conservatives. McClintock's name will be in the same league as Benedict Arnold, and I don't mean Schwarzenegger.
To: My2Cents
So, looks like about half the McClintock supporters would pretty much sit on their hands if McC pulls out of the race. YES MCCLINTOCK Voters will Elect CRUZ !!!

The Survey-USA poll taken Aug. 25th (the most recent poll before this Field Poll) showed that the recall was winning with 65%. So, yes, it looks like support for the recall is slipping, if one can believe the Field Poll.

relax guys mcclintock will hang until the last second and then drop he knows it would fall on him if the gov is bustamonte
You have to make sure that Arnold doesnt suffer a fatal wound and there is no Republican there to cast a vote for.
To: meg70
Yes, as an Independent.
He said he is doing that because it is a problem beyond dims and pubbies, only an outsider can fix it(paraphrase).

As if we couldn't tell by their endless calm and well-reasoned posts. They really would rather see Bustamante win than Arnold. To them a DIRE is better than a RINO.
