I just caught the end of the Rush Limbaugh interview with the new RNC Chair. How disappointing. I seriously thought Rush was talking to a "Moderate" (Liberal) caller. I had no idea who it was.
What are your thoughts on the topics discussed

I seriously thought Rush was talking to a "Moderate" (Liberal) caller. Please explain this concept to me: "The Republican Party is the present home of Conservatism."
Does this mean:
a) ALL republicans are conservative?
b) SOME Republicans are conservatives?
c) Conservatives can be found in the Republican Party at present?
d) b and c

BTW, are you REALLY surprised? Bush has been pushing a "moderate" agenda since day one.

Gillespie: we lost the battle, so we're just not going to fight any more.
Sounds like I'm glad I'm not sending money that way any more.

To: jbstrick
I heard it. No surprises. "Less governemnt" means "slower growth," etc.
The GOP is not planning to revisit the matter of Federal involvement in piblic education, because it's an "old" issue that has been settled.
I wonder, is the matter of a minority of Senators holding up judicial confirmations also settled? Time will tell, time will tell.

My husband called me and wanted to know if I was listening. He's going to vote 3rd party next year, I'm sure. He is in shock over what was coming from the guys mouth. He said something about "The governemnts job to take care of people" (um, no its not) and that we were a democratic capitalistic nation????
Aren't we a republic with capitalistic views?
Oh well, sorry I missed it, I will listen later on 24/7.

This is why we need a true conservative in the whitehouse instead of GWB.

Yes, it was disappointing.
Many have subsequently called into the program really upset about the guy.

The conservatives are revolting! I'm not sure what you meant by that -- it can be taken more than one way!
Some GOP members will say "good riddance, you conservatives are small in number, and not team players."

Gilespie is Bushs's pick and serves at the President's pleasure. When you hear him, you hear Bush.
Bush is proving to be more "compassionate" than "conservative."
He is periliously close to Bush deja vu and close to discouraging his base just as his father did.

Bush has turned out to be a "reverse Rockefeller":
a Social Conservative; Fiscal "Moderate"
