54: No on 54 Union Thugs Assault Pro-54 Females at Davis/Gore Rally, Los Angeles

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UNION THUGS SAVAGELY ATTACK COLLEGE KIDS AT A GRAY DAVIS SPEECH FOR SUPPORTING PROP 54, PROP 54 CAMPAIGN CHAIR WARD CONNERLY DECLARES IT AN ‘OUTRAGE’

SACRAMENTO, CALIF.--Ward Connerly, chairman of the Yes on Proposition 54 campaign, angrily denounced the savage attack several men from an unidentified union and carrying “No on Prop 54” signs unleashed on six college students.

The students, all members of the California College Republicans and in their early 20s, were peacefully protesting at a voter-registration rally held in south Los Angeles and featuring Governor Gray Davis and former Vice President Al Gore. The students stood respectfully outside and carried “Yes on Prop 54” signs.

They were approached by a gang of men, all wearing union shirts and carrying “No on Prop 54” signs, who began verbally harassing them and physically intimidating them by holding their signs over those of the students, standing threateningly close and following them when the students tried to retreat to a safe distance. They also shouted down the students with racial slurs and called one of the female students a “white-washed Mexican.”

Then about 15 of the “No on 54” thugs surrounded two girls, hit them in the face and pulled their hair. Another student who tried to rescue the girls got punched in the back. Finally, all of the students managed to escape to their car and drive away, all the while being followed and yelled at by their bullying attackers. Representatives of the media, including the Los Angeles Times, NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN were present, but it’s unclear how much of the attack they witnessed.

“I cannot express enough my disgust and contempt for brutes who express their political beliefs by beating up on anyone, especially young females,” said Mr. Connerly. “My sympathies go out to the students who had to endure this outrage. They are extremely courageous people who stand up and declare their beliefs, even at risk of bodily harm. I’m proud they stand among the supporters of Prop 54.”

Prop 54 will bar the state and all local California governments from classifying individuals by race in the areas of public education, employment, contracting and most other government operations. Reasonable exemptions exist for medical research subjects and patients, racial classifications required by federal law or for federal funds and certain activities of law enforcement. The state legislature, by a two-thirds vote and with the governor’s approval, can vote to exempt any other reasonable area. Also, the Department of Fair Housing and Employment will receive a 10-year sun-setting exemption.

Members of the media wishing for more information on the attack or who want to get in touch with any of the students can do so by contacting the Yes on Prop 54 office. For more information on Prop 54, please go to www.racialprivacy.org.

Thank you. Your knowledge is helpful!

Anyway, finding the source of a problem--especially union can be as simple as finding their website (some maintain websites with daily updates of problems/concerns) Some unions have union halls and the address is prominently posted on their websites ;-) Also networking with anti union "union workers" can help. I don't know how it is there, but here if you can find a laid off aircraft worker you have found an anti union ally.

Sprinkle a few well trained martial artists into the crowd.

Never underestimate the power of intimidation. And the union thugs usually get away with it, even with cameras rolling. Just ask Don and Teri Adams.

Why would they usually get away with it?

Because they are well connected with a sympathetic media and the courts (especially in Philly where the Adams case was). They're tougher to beat than the mob.

It depends on the location. In a city with a Democrat Mayor, Democrat-appointed police chief, Democrat-elected District Attorney, yes, they are likely to get away with it, considering how much the Democrat machine needs the unions.

This is why things like these happen in Democrat strongholds, rather than in Republican suburbs

Don't believe me?

I believe you. It's now being exposed for what it is.

We build alot of parts for the C-17 here in St. Louis. Then of course the plane itself is put together in Long Beach. Dealing with them has never been easy. I wish Boeing would move all that work here to the Mid-West.

Some of the 'GET OUT OF CHENEY'S HOUSE' demonstrations got violent.

Doubt there has ever been a documented case of a freeper ever disrespecting the rights of other demonstrators.

Further, when the Million Moron Moms were in D.C. they were screaming at the gun rights crowd that they hoped they and their children were murdered by guns.

Very good SoM. I didn't want to bring it up because anyone armed in Ca. is considered a dangerous maniac but since you mentioned it, I already have a 21 incher. Incidentally, Cheaper than Dirt is one of my favorites. This very moment I am awaiting a new .357 Sig barrel for one of my Sigs from them!

Nonetheless, I think we should all take a page out of various group's "defend yourself from an attacker" websites: Pepperspray, long fingernails, martial arts, walking canes. We know what these goons are doing; along with "evidence" gathering methods -- protection is key.

Bringing weapons or doing anything illegal will only bias the cops against you. The proper way to handle a situation like that is to get it on videotape, and hold your hands in front of you, palms out, with the underside of your forearm facing the attacker. Cringe and let them hit you. Do not resist. It will be clear to witnesses what happened, and you will have medical evidence that you were not the aggressor (wounds on the underside of the forearm are consistent with someone cringing in a defensive position, not attacking). Obviously, this advice only applies if you think your life is in no danger. This is a political means of handling an attack--if the attackers are threatening your life, you should not hesitate to do whatever you can to stop them. But if you are in a public place, at a political event, handling the stituation in a political manner would be best.

'Fraid not. Would you like me to bend over while I'm at it? If this is your approach, you might as well stay home with the shutters drawn and let someone else take care of the dirty work.

Maybe it's time for the United States Attorney for Los Angeles to get off his dead ass and conduct a real civil rights investigation.

You are, of course, correct. I'm afraid it's open season on conservatives.

It sure did Don Adams a lot of good, didn't it?

The thugs are predators. One fundamental fact about a predator is that it tends to attack prey that poses no risk, and avoid prey that may kill the predator. The away to avoid attack is the make the predator think that he puts himself at risk by attacking you.

At the Philly anti-Gore rally, my daughter had insisted on coming along. Perhaps without her there, I might have taken your approach. With her there, my attitude was that any violent threat would be responded to with lethal force.

I will not be anyone's punching bag, regardless of the PR aspects. If I show up, I will defend myself from violence using whatever means necessary. If that will have excessive adverse PR consequences, then I won't show up.

Maybe it's time for the United States Attorney for Los Angeles to get off his dead ass and conduct a real civil rights investigation. The First Amendment rights of these kids were brutally violated - so where's the same government that's currently outraged by the mere possibility that some people won't punch their voting cards all the way through?

Let me put this as clearly as possible. I've got entire files now devoted to State and sundry AGs, Trustees, City Officials, Human Rights, Commissions, every "imaginable" group posting on HOW ANTI-54 THEY ARE.

Let us pause, and consider CA's SAG -- Bill Lockyer ("lock ya in a jail cell with...X" in re Enron). Bill Lockyer made it very clear after passage of 209 -- he'd do NOTHING to assist or enforce 209. If he didn't work against the law of 209 -- outside of Willie Brown, I'm not sure what other official could have done LESS to enforce a law in our State's Constitution. And he is, anti-54.

Therefore, bluntly put: These "officials" have made their position STATED up front (on 54). Therefore, via "lib dem" script behavior - if you buck city hall's stated position - You are ON your own -- it's your Owwwwwn problem.

These "officials" are NOT going to do anything to "investigate", IMHO, and IME.

It's Bull Connor behavior of old: "I toldya up front you can't drink out of that water fountain, so if you do, we gonna get ya, boy"
