If he's looking away from the guy holding the gun with a knee on his shoulder. I wonder what he's freaking out about.

A mob of irate, recently robbed Iraqi homeowners with shovels, AK-47s, and wifes with PMS, most likely.

Iraqi policeman appears to be holding a Browning 9mm.
The hammer is down.
With this particular weapon the hammer must be cocked for it to fire. In all likelyhood he is carrying a full magazine and an empty chamber.
He's lucky the perp didn't know this.
Of course a pistol makes a fair club. Hence the term 'pistol whipping'.

Seriously, his right hand is being held down by the officer's right knee and his right shoulder is being held down by the officer's left knee. The officer has been well trained about technique and pressure points. The perp is probably just thrashing and squealing and the camera caught him looking off.

If this were in the USA, the officer would be held for Police Brutality!

Wrong! ... I have a Browning Hi-Power 9mm ..... it can be fired either double or single-action. :)

Iraqi policeman appears to be holding a Browning 9mm. Why a Browning 9mm and not something else? I agree that it is a 1911 style action, and notice that the trigger finger seems to be parallel with the slide and not on the trigger, but the grip safety is surely engaged.
I'm serious about my question. I want to be able to id a Browning vs. Llama vs. Colt Commander in a fuzzy photo at a bad angle.

Hey, I could be wrong. It just looks like that to me.
Either way, he certainly has the perp pinned down nicely.

Wrong! ... I have a Browning Hi-Power 9mm ..... it can be fired either double or single-action. :) It must be a model that I am unfamiliar with. My Browning 9mm (made in 1947) is strictly single action. Every Browning Hi-Power I ever saw was single action, including recent sightings of brand-new ones at the local gun emporium.
Still, I have not seen everything and I don't know everything.
There's always something new.

Waddaya mean, "his tongue"? Don't you recognize a new-born "Blob" when you see it? Also, another Blob species is creeping across the floor right next to the unsuspecting officer !!! Stay tuned for more Blob developments . . .

Good picture. His partner must be doing something to the guy out of frame to get the facial expression he has.
One question for Reuters, though. What does the fact that the Iraqi councilwoman was attacked have to do with this collar? The clear non-sequitor there makes it look like some sort of a sad attempt at claiming that even though Iraqi policemen are doing the job and getting results, Iraq is still a quagmire. Just my own thought on the matter. That, and I've seen Khaled Mohammed's name on some pretty blatant propaganda pieces.
