[history]
If ever there was an idea that started out as a good thing and evolved into a bad thing, it's the idea of a voter registration drive.
There was a time, years ago, when black people were not allowed to vote in certain of our Southern states. That did not change until civil rights workers - mostly college students - went to these states and registered black voters. These young people were heroes. They brought the gift of citizenship to people who had been disenfranchised. In that time and place, voter registration was a good thing.

St. Louis can't/won't get it right.
So voter registration drives are aimed at people who don't really care about voting. < snip > Instead, we seek them out. < snip > Why would we want the indifferent to vote?
Answer: Because it's all about (Democrats) winning.

As I recall, when the original vote for CCW in MO was going on a few years ago, there were accusations of voter fraud in St Louis. IRRC, there were more votes cast than registered voters in St Louis County, MO.

I don't remember that specifically, but you're likely right.

As rampant as these so-called "voter-registration" drives are in St. Louis, I know for a fact (was an election judge in the MO county I lived in) that you have to produce a picture ID with signature on it to get a ballot at ANY election in the state.
Any election official that doesn't or won't, is in violation of the law and the oath they all take before the polling place doors open.

I was at a hotel hosting the Kansas City election party supporting passing of the right to carry the night of the April, 1999 Proposition B election. As the evening progressed, it looked more and more like a sure thing. Then, WAY late in the evening, a HUGE block of votes came in from St. Louis county. We suspected that the other side, who wanted to steal the election, waited until they saw how many phony ballots they would need. They got the fraud done!
Those of us who have been working to get right to carry passed in Missouri were angry to keep hearing some elected officials from the other side spewing the baloney: "The voters have spoken in Missouri. They rejected concealed carry." In fact, Prop. B was defeated by a narrow margin of 3.3 percent. Click this link for more information:
http://www.moccw.org Now that we are going to have the right to carry concealed, and to protect ourselves and families, it's extra sweet, knowing that, amazingly and occasionally, the truth can win out over lies, distortions, illegally-acting public officials, and voter fraud.
