"I'm Not An Alcoholic, I Just Reek of Alcohol" |
|
September 23, 2003 |

On Tuesday, I decided to JIP - join in progress - Senator Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy's response to President Bush's speech to the United Nations. You may not realize that Kennedy is responding to the president's speech, because it's clear he didn't listen to a single word. Kennedy claimed "the administration's rationale was built on a quicksand of false assumptions" and that it "seems confused" in Iraq. Senator, this is a rope-a-dope by the president. Diplomacy is taking place! |

President Bush didn't give specifics because we're trying to isolate the French appeasers. The Germans are already shifting away from their old stance, which will help us build a coalition against Paris. The French don't like our resolution because it has us still running the show - which means they can't get their hands on the oil wealth that rightly belongs to the Iraqi people. To Ted Kennedy, whose liver is said to be shaped like a Chivas Regal bottle, what Bush said and what's best for America and the Iraqis doesn't matter. All that mattered was that this speech gave him a chance to score political points.
You know, I read today that the KGB developed a pill, RU-21, to enable their agents to drink and drink without getting hangovers. If Ted Kennedy doesn't start taking RU-21 soon, his brain might deteriorate to the point where he makes as many bizarre comments as General Wes Clark. "I'm not a drunk, I'm just an average American who reeks of alcohol" would be a famous phrase to equal to General Clark's, "I'm not a military man, I've just been in the military and the Armed Services for 31 years." If only Kennedy had taken RU-21 in the 90s, we might've been able to understand the unintelligible syllables on that day he introduced Bill Clinton. |

Deroy Murdock Echoes Limbaugh on New Tone |
|
|
Deroy Murdock of National Review wrote a fantastic piece on President Bush's attempts to woo and befriend this guy. Quote: "Teddy Kennedy's outbursts should end all Bush collaboration with him.... Bush's esteem for Kennedy has epitomized the new tone in Washington, whereby Republicans extend their hands in friendship to Democrats, who in turn bite off their fingers." I have never bought into this new tone, and Ted Kennedy is an example of how it has never worked. The lesson to be learned here is that the liberals don't want to be friends with us or to discover common ground. In fact, they look at any nicety as a sign of weakness and laugh at us for it!
"Oh, Rush, we don't fight filibusters or smears against our friends because we're trying to get people who hate us to love us." It doesn't work! This theme is rampant, and I can't tell you how frustrated I get over it. If some Hollywood liberal says a single thing even remotely conservative, many of you react with a glee and joy that befuddles me. Why do you need to be validated by these locoweeds who don't know half of what they believe? Why do we have to sit get Ted Kennedy to be our friend before we're cool? Why do we try to massage these people into not saying bad things about us? All we end up doing is giving them everything they want, and they still come out and behave in a totally nasty fashion! |

Liberal Democrats are like wild animals. In spite of providing a litter box and regular feeding, we still need to be careful when petting them.

I looked at this as a signal that Kennedy is going to back Dean, especially when you look at the entry of Clark into the race. Kennedy wants control of the DNC. If Dean does well enough in the general election, McCaulif will be out.

Not to be mean like Ted Kennedy, but for more reasons now than the already obvious one, the WRONG person happened to drown in that car.

We saw Ted Kennedy in the flesh (and there was plenty of it) on the British Virgin Island of Tortola three years ago. He was sitting at the table next to us drinking a Hieneken --what a stupid drink to drink in the B.V.I.'s! C'mon Senator at least drink Caribe beer for crying out loud.
Anyway, when they were leaving he gets into this dinghy and damn near capsizes the thing. It took two people on the other side to balance it out. I also have memory of some major plumbers butt tho I could have been seeing things (I drink the native rum, LOL).

Time to hit back our fold up the tent Mr. Pres. Not to mix metaphors, but I cannot imagine why GWB stuck his chin out anyway. Being a Texan for 50 years, I know Texas politics can get rough, and Bush had good success. But I think the Pres overestimated his "consensus" ability in the DC league.
