Former Ohio Congressman James A. Traficant Jr. (D-JAIL) is no longer seeking to trade his prison cell for the Oval Office.
A group that formed a Presidential Exploratory Committee for the ousted Democrat announced Wednesday that it will end a two month campaign because of lack of support.
Traficant is in prison for bribery and racketeering.
Marcus Belk, the manager of the 'Draft Traficant for President in 2004' Campaign said the group could not raise the $100,000.00 needed to qualify for federal matching funds.
All donations will be returned, Belk said.

You mean no one was going to give 100k to a guy in jail--how unfair! (sarcasm off)

No Traficant post should go without at least one "bad hair" picture!

BTW, welcome to FR - I see, by your profile, that you're new around these parts.

Apparently
LaRouche was sprung some time ago.

Darn, and I was sure he would, when added to the other ten dem Presidential candidates, significantly raise the level of integrity. That is also why I was disappointed when Jerry Springer decided not to run. Eventually, some one will have to replace Teddy ("the sole survivor of Chappaquidic bridge") Kennedy as party spokesman, and Springer seemed to have the class to do it.

So I guess I shouldn't have been giving him his contributions in cigarettes...
Now I wonder what he actually meant when he said that my contribution had "saved his bacon"?
