Rothstein said he drove her around to buy equipment to cut up and dispose of the body in an effort to delay the process. When they returned to his house, Rothstein told police he drove away and called 911, because he was alarmed that Diehl-Armstrong wanted to use an ice crusher to dismember the body. As opposed to the more civilized means the duo might have used to dismember the corpse.

According to court records and law enforcement officials, Diehl-Armstrong, then known as Marjorie Diehl, was charged in 1984 with the shooting death of her boyfriend, Robert Thomas. Saying she had been a victim of physical and sexual abuse, Diehl testified that she had to shoot Thomas before he killed her. She was acquitted of the homicide charge in 1988 and received probation for carrying a firearm without a license.
Our brilliant court system at work, yet again. Though I find it interesting that she got off on murder, but boy, they showed her, they got her for possessing a gun.
Why is it that her recent victim's kin can't bring a wrongful death action, or even "depraved indifference" murder charges against the judge in the earlier case?

I was confused earlier, about where this Marjorie's boyfriend was found. His body was supposedly found in a house near where Brian Wells' last pizza delivery was supposed to have been. I had thought that was Marjorie's house, but now I realize that it was this Rothstein's.
I see that this Marjorie managed to get Rothstein suckered into taking her albatross (the dead body of her boyfriend) over to his house. She sounds like she's both very crafty and very crazy. (No, I am not saying that she should "get off" due to "insanity".)
This Rothstein sounds like a sucker, or at least like someone who is weak-willed--given that he didn't just call the police on Marjorie the minute she called him and asked her to help get rid of a body. His house is near where Wells was apparently accosted by Wells' murderers. Makes me wonder if said murderers might also have been considering Rothstein as a target for their little games.

told him she had found Roden dead and was worried that she would be blamed
he drove her around to buy equipment to cut up and dispose of the body in an effort to delay the process
I'd say she just increased her chances of being blamed... sheeesh

The article is so poorly written that I have no idea what the situation is.
Rothstein wrote a suicide note.
But it doesn't sound as if he is dead.
What's that about?

This town's folk are right up there with Frank Booth in "Blue Velvet". An entire sub-culture operating in parallel with the seemingly normal crowd, only this bunch just can't accept plain o'l boring America.
Who exactly is that behind you in the grocery store huh?
