Why We Should Boycott ESPN

Posted on 10/02/2003 7:52:46 AM PDT by Libs R Evil

ESPN could easily have come out and said that Rush said nothing wrong, and said they supported him and wanted him to stay, but instead they sat back and did nothing. IMO anyone who aquiesces to PC naziism, or refuses to stand up against it is part of the problem. IMO its time for a boycott of ESPN.

You can bet your a$$ it was ABC . . . see Disney . . . who needed a backbone. It's okay to celebrate gay-ness at Disneyland but it's not okay to be a conservative.

"Ah, but Rush DID do something wrong. He tried to turn a football show into a political show. And that's not what ESPN is selling."

Reads ....... I [RonF] have been indictrinated in the ways of P/C, and will always parrot the socialist whine line.

It's either that or we have yet another boob that can't read and comprehend the spoken word.

Very sad

Unfortunately, ESPN is the only place we can catch the MBL playoffs. Maybe I'll boycott them after the playoffs, except for Sunday night NFL games. Oh, I already do that! There are so few programs on ESPN worthwhile that you are promoting a minimal cause.

I sent an e-card to ESPN this morning to express my condolences on the loss of their executive management's manhood for failing to support the opinion of the media of one of their commentators.

I suggested a slight name change to the Effeminate Sports Programming Network.

Uh no, the liberal sportswriters turned football into a political thing when they start playing affirmative action with black quarterbacks. They can do it all day long, but Rush better keep quiet?

Great to see you endorsing the liberal's double standards(sheesh)

He did not turn it in to a political show. What he said about McNabb's playing is true. They would have lost on Sunday, except for the defense. Let's see what Washington does to them this week. As for espn they should grow some backbone.

Good to see someone who is part of the solution and not the problem, sadly, a rare thing on this thread. Freegards

Hey I love a good boycot of anything tainted by liberal B.S.- but I think this time I ahve to agree that Rush, whom I do not listen to often, made a mistake in his remarks

Football should be exemt of politics. He just made a mistake, but he really should not have said what he did, true or not .

He brought the muck of politcs to ESPN, and I am sure even if they love him they would rather stay out of it. Everyone knows he is a hot potato , and ESPN most likely had some type of agreement with him in case anything were to happen like this. I don't ever watch ESPN, but they are a business and I am sure they just don't want to get involved one way or the other.

I agree with your motives that we ahve to fight the liberals and the outrageous media bias we are seeing this week, but I don't think this is a good fight.

Do you even watch ESPN in the first place? God, you keyboard ideologues who aren't even sports fans are making me nuts.

"Agree or disagree, the idea that the media is aware of diversity concerns and might treat athletes differently because of race is a legitimate opinion that should be discussed. There is nothing outrageous, racist or "fire-able" about such an opinion even if you think the premise is incorrect."

Well, said. That's how it SHOULD workl but unfortunately we are in a country where many believe that AMerica's racial past can somehow be fixed by destroying free speech and reinstituting ugly racial double standars in reverse in the present. But the worst part about it is the utter whimpiness of those who SHOULD be standing up against it, but aren't.

Can you imagen... Rush tells the truth, in his opinion, and now, he is being nailed... well, so much for honest commentary. To hell with ESPN, I watch and read to bet, and haven't ever used ESPN... Some years great, some not, but I'll be damned if being honest is misconduct. That is what is wrong with our society. When are all of us gonna quit being scared and speak out? I will never forget the black Congress woman in Los Angeles, telling the blacks "don't riot and burn in your own neighborhoods, go to the white mans neighborhood"... after Rodney King verdicts. She should be in prison for that. I saw it live.
Rush doesn't need ESPN anyway, and be ready for more attacks on us. Its only just begun.

The guy has such an blatant boring ego problem, he thinks he can do whatever he pleases.

yeah, he actually had the audacity to think there was free speech in America. Good thing there are people like you around to tell him otherwise.
