Fox News reports that the Davis Administration has sought the services of document shredding companies. The implication is that he thinks that there is a good chance he will be kicked out of office, and this is a desperate attempt to destroy incriminating evidence.

Tony Snow and guest suggest that the GOP should seek a restraining order to prevent the destruction of potential material evidence...

If not for the Oklahoma prosecutors, Bernard Ebbers would probably have emerged from his WorldCom mess unindicted. The Feds don't seem to have the appetite to prosecute him.

Personally, I think Davis, Lay, and Ebbers should all be held accountable. However, people at that level are rarely held accountable. It does happen, but tends not to.

My husband and I laughed tonight while watching Fox News and they had a clip of Gray Davis saying how Arnold could never be Governor of California because Arnold, while a young, single guy groped a few bimbos. What really made us laugh was that there was Jesse Jackson, standing right behind Gray Davis looking very serious - I'm sure you all remember Reverend Jesse Jackson - the old married man who produced a child with his young mistress. The Nazis did try to destroy incriminating evidence, but there was plenty left to convict those of them that the Allies chose to go after. (The Cold War was quickly starting at the end of WWII, and so we quickly chose not to pursue a lot of matters, but not because of lack of evidence.)

I suspect the same will be true of the Davis administration. In this age of computers, it's a lot harder to destroy evidence than it was for the Nazis.

The California National Guard is the Governors Army, not likely that they would or could do anything (prior to the recall). It would make for some really terrific headlines if they did.
