Bob Knight, one of the most legendary college basketball coaches of all time, died Wednesday at the age of 83. Knight was a three-time national champion and made five Final Fours, all during his 29-season tenure at Indiana. Knight's first head coaching job was with Army in 1965; he took the Hoosiers job in 1971, where he stayed until 2000. He then coached Texas Tech from 2001-2008. Indiana Democrat Joe Donnelly lost his Senate seat on Tuesday in a hard-fought race against Republican businessman Mike Braun. Donnelly, who took the seat in 2012, lost the first Democratic Senate seat of the midterm election in a state President Trump won by 19 points in 2016. Braun cast himself as an outsider and a staunch supporter of Trump, while claiming Donnelly was out of line with Indiana values by supporting abortion rights and other issues.

INDIANAPOLIS A new state law has gone into effect allowing Indiana handgun owners to get lifetime licenses. Gun owners now have the option to get lifetime permits instead of the current four-year licenses to carry the weapons. About 287-thousand people in Indiana have gun permits, which cost 25 dollars for four years. Those who want lifetime licenses when their current permits expire will have to pay 100 dollars; those getting a license for the first time will be charged 125 dollars. Applicants will still have to pass criminal background checks and allow their fingerprints to remain on file with police....
