Resolutions passed by the Sydney Synod concerning Developments in the Anglican Communion

Sydney Synod has passed this evening (21/10/03) the following two motions concerning events in the Anglican Communion.

Motion 1 Concerning Developments in the Anglican Communion

Motion 2 Greetings to biblically orthodox clergy and laity in the Diocese of New Westminster and ECUSA

Full Story:

Motion 1

Developments in the Anglican Communion

Synod reaffirms its commitment to the authority of Scripture and recognises that the Anglican Communion has traditionally maintained its adherence to that authority and that of the 39 Articles of religion.

It notes the departure from biblical authority in the actions of –

(a) the Synod of the Diocese of New Westminster by agreeing to bless same-sex unions, and

(b) the Diocese of New Hampshire, endorsed by the Convention of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America, in electing as bishop a person engaged in homosexual activity.

Synod therefore dissociates itself from these actions which are contrary to biblical teaching, and as an expression of Christian fellowship and love calls on those involved to repent, and to reverse their decisions.

Synod also commends our Archbishop for his public comments on these issues and for standing with other leaders of like mind in their desire to maintain the truths of Scripture.

Motion 2

Greetings to biblically orthodox Clergy and Laity in the Diocese of New Westminster and in ECUSA

Synod sends Christian greetings to the Rev David Short, to the congregation of St John’s Shaughnessy, and to the other clergy and laity of the Diocese of New Westminster who have stood firm on the teaching of scripture concerning human sexuality.

We commit ourselves to pray for your witness to the truth, for the deepening of your fellowship in the proclamation of the gospel and for your continued confidence in our Father’s sovereign purposes.

Synod also supports the proposal that members of the Diocese of New Westminster who cannot in conscience accept the Episcopal leadership of Bishop Ingham should have access to alternative Episcopal ministry.

Synod also expresses its support for those section of ECUSA who are struggling to preserve biblical standards in their denomination and encourages them to stand firm in the face of pressure to conform to policies that are contrary to biblical teaching.

Well now the perverts and those who supported the perverts now have the Down Under Anglicans putting pressure on them.

One interesting thing to watch will be that although the diocese of Sydney is Evangelical, the Primate of Australia is one of frank the heretic's buddies. What this means is that if the heretics in the leadership of the Australian Province make too much noise in support of frank and his boy vicki gene he could end up with a revolution in his own backyard as well.

Thanks for the info.

The heretics in charge have to be very very careful not hang themselves out with Frank if they decide to support Frank.

You wrote "The heretics in charge have to be very very careful not hang themselves out with Frank if they decide to support Frank."

True enough, though I'm not sure the majority of them even realize that - remember the whole "progressive" nonsense again...they may have just found themselves in an "impossible" situation, and simply keep on going over the edge of the cliff because they're not bright enought to come up with an alternative.

Their arrogance will do them in, not their not being so bright.

Rule Two, no member of the faculty is to maltreat the Abbos in any
way at all -- if there's anybody watching.
Rule Three? (Everyone) No Poofters!!
Rule Four, now this term, I don't want to catch anybody not drinking.
