The Church has dealt in such bad faith on this issue that it is impossible to cut them any slack, or give them the benefit of the doubt.

Very sorry to see Domincans involved in this cr*p; what kind of influence do they think these perverts will have on their seminarians?

Oh yeah, and why aren't they (the perverts) in jail?

The modern Dominicans, like the Franciscans, have moved so far from the example of St Dominic, "ans" may be more appropriate.

'ans', lol. Seriously though, I thought the Domincans were doing relatively okay. It was the Franciscans and the Benedictine men who were going fruit loops. (Never mind the nuns.)

"It was the Franciscans and the Benedictine men who were going fruit loops."

Even the modern Franciscans and Benedictines are ultra-conservative compared with the Jesuits.

The elderly Jesuit to whom I confess seems to be all right.

Of course, I only know him from the confessional, but...

A couple of years ago I was at my wits' end, and the knot in the end of my rope was fraying.

I mentioned my problem several times to the parish priest of the NO church I had been attending, and he never offered to help. I don't want to say what kind of help my family needed, except to say that it wasn't financial.

I really needed a priest, and I prayed to the Lord to send me a priest.

One day at work I felt a desire to go to confession and Mass, and I knew that this Church fairly close to work had 5 o'clock confession and 6 o'clock Mass, so I decided to go.

In the confessional, the problem came out, and immediately Father M. said, "Would you like me to (do exactly what I needed)?" He said, "I know such and such, who is very senior in that area, and I'll bet he could help you."

And he did provide the introduction, and the person he introduced me to made some phone calls and in a few minutes opened doors I'd been banging my head on for about three years.

God forgive me, I really resent that liberation theologist, N.O. priest for gaffing me off, making absolutely no effort to do the same thing.

I hear a lot of terrible stuff about the Jesuits, but Father M. is a bit of all right in my book.

Agreed. Last month I walked in early for my Econ class, and I heard the professor who teaches the class before mine talking with a student. The course was titled "Women In World Religions" or something. And the student was saying how she heard of a theological reason why the Virgin Mary couldn't be a virgin, and she wanted to explore it, and did the professor know anybody who could help her?

Of course, she replied: "Right here in DC, we've got great resources. You will want to talk to some Jesuits."

I, of course, have been warned many times not to wander 20 minutes west, into Hoya-land. Here at George Washington U, I have to stroll past 6 foot tall statues of human genitalia. But that is preferable to the Jesuit feeding grounds at Georgetown, where I may pollute my brains with reasons the Virgin Mary can't be a virgin.

Step into my office, little girl.
