Altered Litany of the Saints from Clementine Chapel to St. Peter's

I have just noticed that the Litany of the Saints was changed profoundly for the moving of the Body of Pope John Paul the Great from the Clementine Chapel to St. Peter's.

St. Mary Magdalene (apostola apostolorum) was listed with the Apostles instead of with the female saints. St. Barnabas was moved after St. Mark etc. The inclusion of St. Boniface(!) as well as St. Stanislaus.

I knew there would be differences for the Holy Father, but these changes were very striking.

If anyone can point me to a copy on the Vatican website of the Litany of Saints as it is being used today I would be grateful.

Mind you I'm not looking for links to the ordinary Litany of the Saints which are a plenty. I'm looking for the one used today. Many thanks.

EWTN has declared, without a source, that the appropriate custom is to delete the reference to the Pope during the sede vacante.

This is how it was done Sunday at my parish.

Our pastor simply omitted the reference to the Pope in the Eucharistic Prayer.

Did you notice the other change?

"Ora pro eo" versus "Ora pro nobis?" I understand that this is "Pray for you," but "you is "tu" in Latin and Italian, so I couldn't figure this out.

Not off hand, seamole. Just remembering from experience after the death of Paul VI and then John Paul I.

EWTN has a liturgical tsar in Fr. Anthony Mary, MFVA, who is very good at what he does. (I use "tsar" with respect and affection.)

Ora pro eo means "pray for him" so they were asking each saint to pray for John Paul II rather than for all of us.

I saw this on TV over the weekend and it set my teeth on edge a bit. Is this a term normally used?

I believe that what was said was not actually the Litany of the Saints. but the "Ordo Commendationis Animae" (Order of Commending the Soul). This ritual begins with a series of invocations that sound like the Litany of the Saints (and yes, they do invoke particular saints and groups thereof). The ritual goes on to include a long series of orations. In structure, it is very similar to the Litany of the Saints, but the OCA is a distinct, liturgical set of prayers specifically assigned to be prayed at the time of death.

Thank you, but that particular commendation isn't what was prayed. It could have been a reformulation of it for this occasion, or a special Pontifical version, and I will follow up on that. I appreciate your pointing me in this direction.
