"Uhhhhh, it's a miracle?"
From who?
Acts 8:9-11 "But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: To whom they all (all? yes, all) gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. (oh really?) And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries." A few verses later this same man offered the apostles money to have the power to cause people to receive the Holy Ghost, because it is THE supernatural experience.
From who?
Always an appropriate question. By use of the word 'miracle' I would suggest the source is most likely not a deceiver and the act is not a deception. But...I couldn't say absolutely.
We can examine the testimony of how it came to exist and we either trust that testimony as evidence or not.
Either way, any miracle only confirms what is believed by faith. It is not the foundation of faith.
all? yes, all
I always love this word in Scripture. All of Judea and Jerusalem came out to be baptized by John? Herod, his court and the chief priest too? The Roman garrison? Well, perhaps not all.
