Secondly, simply because some use the title does not in any way justify going against Scripture.Okay, I'll bite. Any thoughts on what Jesus is telling us in that passage?
I've called many a man Father, including my biological father, but I've never, even as a small child, confused any of them with the Creator of us all. They are only frail creatures like the rest of us.

When Jesus said we are to honor our father and mother He was obviously referring to our biological father. In John 17 He used the title Holy Father in referring to God the Father. It is clear to me the title Holy Father should never be used for any man.

Okay, I'll bite. Any thoughts on what Jesus is telling us in that passage? It seems that this is Jesus' way of saying "Don't follow leaders, watch the parking meters." IOW, ignore self-professed leaders, philosophers, politicians and gurus and pay attention to every word that comes from the mouth of God. Not to say that wisdom is not possible outside of Scripture, but test every spirit.
