Just because you want to believe something doesn't make it so.

You should heed your own advice.

Just because some psychopath says he prayed with the pope to God to be healed.. and suddenly they are healed doesn't make them any less a psychopath.

Your ad hominem attacks asside, on the converse, it doesn't make him any more a psychopath.

No, St. X didn't heal you. God healed you through the intercession of the saint.

Not quite true.

The family unit is obviously a support system for us earthlings.

Put that on a bumper sticker. LOL

Thank you for the vivid display of Protestantism as rampant individualism.

This reads like the investigator has a vested interest in seeing that John Paul II is canonized. If that's the case then it should be no surprise that the "miracles" needed to confirm him as a saint WILL be found.

Ken, surely you are not ignorant of the role of the "Devil's Advocate"? So why be surprised that the case for sainthood, too, has its advocates?

How is one saved?

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

V.9 Not of works, What kind of works would that be??

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

Where should a Christian go for information?

Psalms 119:89 LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
Psalms 119:105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalms 119:140 Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.
Psalms 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

How old is this library?

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.

Jo 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Healing of Nohad El Shami

Essentially, one source for this "miracle".

In any event I have always been skeptical of all "miraculous healings" which have also been duplicated in a "spontaneous", non miraculous, situation.

I am sill waiting for a missing limb or eye(s) to be restored.

Further, why the unseemly haste in the last few years to fine new Saints?

The Miracle I would like to see is all the pedophiles across the world confessing to their crimes/sins and then leaving all their positions of opportunity or power in what ever careers they are in. That my friends would be a true miracle.

Well. Pray to JPII to ask God for that miracle. That could be the one that finally gets him into the hall of fame. :-)

True enough, would be a lot of confessions pouring out of old Europe and Asia if that were to occur by the way.

We hear everything in the USA because we have such a freedom of information and lots of people searching for money damages in courts.

I am glad you did not take my initial comments the wrong way. I do not mind debate about theology, beliefs, etc. What bothers me is that many people (not you) make snide comments, or ignorant remarks just to anger the Catholics here. It really is hurtful, no matter how faithful you are. All in all, I wish that all the Christians here could just get along. We are conservatives and Christians, and a lot of times we fight, as families do, but in the end it usually works out.

Yours in Christ,

Theoden

You are so obviously filled with the love of Christ, that you feel the need to elevate yourself and put down the Church in any way you can. It seems that going "Sola Scripture", you missed out on the passages of love thy neighbor as thy self, do unto others, as you would have them do unto you, etc...(Did not Christ sit with sinners at his table?).

You are blinded by ignorance and hatred. It's easier to just pick & choose a few quotes from the Bible and call yourself "saved".

You blindly make comments about a church that you know nothing about, and do not care to learn anything about it. I truly pity you if you think that Catholics are idol worshipers. I hope you will let go of your hate.

God bless.

Actually the judging on what is holy and not holy falls upon your beloved Catholic Church. :)

Wow.. built on the same church with its wonderful moral authority it's shown over the last 2000 years?

If the Catholic Church is the end all be all of Christ's teachings there is certainly no better atestment to Earth's version of Satan rising up against God.

You aren't even making sense anymore. So basically you are saying that you have to be Catholic in order to be Christian?

Sounds like you are the one that is stuck up.

Well, if what you say is true (which it isn't), it seems you are vying for that title yourself. Good Luck with that.

Hate? Where do you come up with hate.. I do not hate you.. I do not hate anybody. God will do with you as he chooses. I'm not condemning anyone to hell here. I have an opinion that the Catholic Church acts like God.

If you don't like that opinion.. that's fine.. that's your opinion.

Don't confuse it with hate to make yourself feel better. If I'm wrong it doesn't matter either.. for both of us can be saved through Jesus Christ.

If you believe you are right you'll find out from God. If I'm right you'll have to answer to him.. not to me.

So the Catholic Church deeming who is a Saint and who is in heaven is judging what is holy?

Is there an actual argument in this statement or are you just rambling?

Furthermore, what's so different than saying that Catholic Church is the "end all be all" of Christ's teachings than saying you are the "end all be all" of Christ's teachings?
