On this Holy Thursday EvE, will anyone before Easter-be watching the Passion of the Christ? In loving memory of Jesus Christ ,true God and true Man-Out of love for mankind He allowed this suffering to open Heaven's Gate, by the will of the Father.
We adore Thee O Christ and we bless Thee because by Thy most Holy Cross Thou hast redemmed the world----lest we forget!
The year this movie came out I took off work Ash Wednesday to view the film with my teenage daughter. During Lent she was admitted to the hospital, underwent emergency surgery, and almost died. She spent Easter Sunday in the hospital. Her stay totalled an entire month. It was a very trying Lent for all of us, but especially her.
I bought the DVD, but have not viewed the movie since its opening day. I can't watch it on Good Friday, but intend to see it on Holy Saturday.

Watched it after the Holy Thursday Mass. After all, the repose of the Lord in an alternate location represents His praying in the Garden...that's where the movie starts up, so it is appropriate.
Definitely puts one in the mood for the events of today.
We finally bought the DVD this week. I watched part of it on Sunday night and finished it last night to put myself in the proper spirit for today. I prefer to not watch the entire movie in one sitting. As a man, this has got to be the only movie that has ever made me cry...for good reason, though.

I'm doing Stations of the Cross and then Veneration of the Cross from noon to 3:00 and then The Good Friday Passion Service tonight at 7:00. Somewhere in between I plan to view 'The Passion'.
