Toxic thread turned personal |

If what you say is so, then that is news to me.
The last time I heard Billy Graham tell Jesus' parable of the rich man and Lazarus, Hell seemed like a real place to me.
He only preaches about things like this to people who are already believers.
There wouldn't be any reason for the unsaved to be taught what errors to watch out for.
All I asked was "Is this really necessary?" I withheld my editorial opinion which is not flattering.
I would have asked the same question, regardless of the identify of the thread poster.
If someone is preaching false doctrine, they are to be exposed.
2 Timothy 4:1 ¶I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
#5. He doesn't think Theology is important {any more}.
Well neither do I. Most theology study is some prof or other trying as hard as they can to find some new, innovative way of looking at the Bible.
It should be banned at seminaries, and any Christian who never reads a single theology book will be a better person for it.
As far as the {anymore} part -- look he's 80 years old and has given his whole live for the Lord. He could WRITE the book, if he wanted, or if he thought it was important -- Which it isn't.
He is really a very nice person.
:-)
1-3 & 6-10 --- I don't beleive a word of it.
IMHO, when the author does one-millionth what Billy has done to spread the gospel, I might give him a bit of credibility. Might.
AND WORST OF ALL, BILLY GRAHAM HAS HIS CAPS LOCK STUCK!!
Thanks so much. I believe that it is very important for Christians to be able to speak the truth.
I am just wondering why you are calling it toxic?
Is it against some FR rule or something that I need to know about? Please advise.
I know Bro. Cloud and his manner of living. He lives in Nepal where he and his wife have been missionaries for over 15 years.
He truly loves the Lord and loves the truth. He has no quarrel with Graham personally, he only wishes that he would adhere to the truths of Scripture.
But isn't Jesus right?
"One is sometimes glad not to be a great theologian ; one might so easily mistake it for being a good Christian."
C.S. Lewis
I promise you, Bro. CLoud is not a bitter person. His only beef is that people who claim to preach the Gospel then water it down and change it for different audiences.
I don't believe that should be done. Do you?
He's really a great guy. He's been a missionary to Nepal for over 15 years now, started churches there, and a Bible college.
As long as the posters discuss the issues the thread is useful - but if the discussion turns personal - even slightly - it will not be tolerated.
thanks for your reply.
My opinion still stands: When Cloud has done one millionth what Billy has to spread the Gospel, I might give him a bit of credibility.
best regards...
He teaches Nepalese how to type hysterically in ALL CAPS.
