The singer performed a range of outrageous stunts for a pilot of her new Channel 4 talk show, such as smashing open a statue of the Virgin Mary to reveal a can of cider and eating a communion wafer emblazoned with a ecstasy smiley face and pretending to hallucinate. ...
As well as branding the Pope a “Nazi” – despite performing for Pope John Paul II when she was an angelic 12-year-old – she called painfully thin actress Keira Knightley “a scrawny bird” and labelled Posh Spice Victoria Beckham "as thick as two short planks".
Church's latest CD, featuring a modern/pop sound, is titled "Tissues and Issues"; the first single was titled "Crazy Chick." Hey, if the song fits, play it.
The stuff in that post sounds like The Vicar of Dibbley on crack. Lots and lots of crack.

Poor kid. She is killing her career. Her "ma" is going to miss the money. Stage mothers probably spend a lot of time in purgatory, if they get there.
I like it, too. I also like "Rat-Zinger" :-), but that wouldn't be widely understood!
I'm also disappointed that a young woman with such potential would choose a path that's destructive to her and disedifying to onlookers. Very sad.

Yup. Tore up JP the Great's picture on SNL. Nobody's heard from her since.
I remember listening to her, I guess about 2001-2002 when I was really starting to learn about singing, and she was breathing, gasping really, very loudly during her phrases. It stuck out like a sore thumb, and made me realize she wasn't getting good pedagogy, if she was getting any at all.
I hate to say this, but the X in the shape of an (unconsecrated) host is kind of funny.

Had read your post and was thinking at the time that it is so ironic this week that a Muslim based terror organization called "Hezbollah" had shot a dangerous missile into the beloved city of Narazeth, the hometown of Jesus and Mary.
This really, really, really makes me question the "respect" that Muslims give to Jesus and Mary when they just talk about "respect" and then take actions that do not show any "respect" to Jesus and Mary. Thanks for letting me vent.
I am just very shocked how she has changed. This coming from a woman who just came back yesterday from a mid-summer short retreat vacation.

No, whatever church she is affiliated with at present would appear to have little to do with God.
You know, ordinarily I get ticked off when people do idiotic things like she is doing. But, in this case, I can't help but thinking of her as a victim of demonic influence. If we knew more about her, I would not be surprised to learn that as a child, she was victimized by people exploiting her talent and beauty for profit.
All we can do is pray for her and others like her.
Maybe she needs her 15 minutes of fame? Has her career been lagging? Is she rebelling? They've all been doing it - bash the Church or the President and boost your 'star' power, your fame shoots up. It's almost like a rite of passage, at least in that crowd.
She does sound demon possessed. No normal, functioning human being would do this stuff.
