Church gets ransom demand for priest

THE Catholic Church in Iraq has received a ransom demand for a priest who was kidnapped in Baghdad, Rome-based Catholic news agency Misna said today.
"They want money," Misna quoted Emmanuel Delly, the patriarch of the Chaldean Catholic Church, as saying.
The agency said the kidnappers of the priest, Saad Syrop Hanna, had telephoned the Church to make their demands and had said he was in good health.
Last Sunday Pope Benedict issued an appeal for the release of the priest, who was abducted on August 15.
The Chaldean Catholic Church is an Eastern Rite church that is in communion with Rome.

What country did this occur in?
Prayers for the Priest held captive.
Arrgh these creeps are getting on my last human nerve.
Someone should clue these creeps in that we have Martyrs in our Catholic faith too!

Looks like plain old gangsters. There are plenty of them in Baghdad. Yes, that seems to be the situation. Even the Muslim imams have called for the release of this priest.
