Her Cross to Bear (NY State's Junior Senator now sports religious jewelry)
NY Daily News ^ | October 17, 2006 | Ben Smith

http://blogs.nydailynews.com/dailypolitics/archives/images/clintoncross3.JPG

I'm not sure when this started, but a crucifix cross* appears to have become a regular part of Hillary Clinton's wardrobe.

She wore a gold one July 20, for a speech criticizing advertising directed at children. No picture available.) And she wore the diamond-studded one pictured above to the News last week. A Google Images search doesn't seem to turn up any others, though whenever you think you've noticed something new about Clinton, her aides usually produce rock-solid evidence that it has always been thus.

Clinton's Christianity, while never exactly lapsed, has rarely been forefront; noticing the jewelry doesn't strike me as (quite as) frivolous as reporting on her hairstyle. (He said defensively.)

Is it, perhaps, a sign that her faith may be a bit more in the foreground as 2008 approaches?

*Commenters have politely alerted me that a crucifix is a cross with a representation of that guy -- what's his name again? -- attached.

UPDATE: She's also wearing a cross in this lovely 2001 shot, and several others over the years.

Her hienousness absolutely MUST try to fool somebody into believing her 'conversion' -at least until after the elections.

Oh yeah...I'm completely fooled by that little gimmick.
(Notice she won't let it touch her skin directly...)

Wearing a cross and saying "kill your babies" doesn't compute.

Hillary is a United Methodist, btw. About which I know absolutely nothing.

And neither does she.

This stuff to get the vote is so offensive.

When you read Gary Aldrich's Unlimited Access, and read how the Clintons mocked Christmas with decorating their tree with condoms, and other sex related stuff, it just seems so pretentious

Ping!

See what I mean! This is a major strategy of the Left for the '08 elections. Let's defang it. Lets nip it in the bud. Every blog should be on top of this

I think a serious essay documenting the empty efforts of the left to "appear religious in advance of the '08 elections' is needed.

Stories on "green evangelicals"...Hillary, of all people, preching to her constituents about Jesus and the tenants of Christianity. Barack Obama's book. Harold Ford Jrs commercials from within a church, and the 10 commandments on the back. he also claims to be pro-life now, (after, ahem voting against the partial birth abortion ban several times).

Ive seen "religious left" appearing almost a year agou (right about the same time I've seeen the first media reports on "the religious left".

Their campaign is going to be very deep and relentless. they have UNLIMITED support from the main stream media on this farse to appear religious. We got to keep a running record of these things...How their references to god will exponentially increase.

I expect it all to peak at the DNC convention with a choir and Gospel music ringing out

Prayers must be working. Don't stop praying. There might still be time for all sinners to repent.

If we are all thieves on our own cross, will we remain boastful of our sins and demand salvation? Or penitently defend innocence and beg God remember us?

On this you are absolutely right. The Demonrats are visibly stumbling around for a method to defang religion so that they may be empowered to attempt to destoy religious resistance to their evil agenda.

A scene from the 2008 DNC convention, except the whole RAT party will be up there with Hillary at the podium.

If it isn't blessed, it's just another piece of adornment.

~Sort of like carrying an umbrella full of holes.

I'll take a Benedictine blessing on my stuff any day. I'll give her the benefit of a doubt. Maybe she's changed.

The Rats must attack religion. It stands in the way of too many things they believe in.
