Her Cross to Bear (NY State's Junior Senator now sports religious jewelry)

http://blogs.nydailynews.com/dailypolitics/archives/images/clintoncross3.JPG

I'm not sure when this started, but a crucifix cross* appears to have become a regular part of Hillary Clinton's wardrobe.

She wore a gold one July 20, for a speech criticizing advertising directed at children. No picture available.) And she wore the diamond-studded one pictured above to the News last week. A Google Images search doesn't seem to turn up any others, though whenever you think you've noticed something new about Clinton, her aides usually produce rock-solid evidence that it has always been thus.

Clinton's Christianity, while never exactly lapsed, has rarely been forefront; noticing the jewelry doesn't strike me as (quite as) frivolous as reporting on her hairstyle. (He said defensively.)

Is it, perhaps, a sign that her faith may be a bit more in the foreground as 2008 approaches?

*Commenters have politely alerted me that a crucifix is a cross with a representation of that guy -- what's his name again? -- attached.

UPDATE: She's also wearing a cross in this lovely 2001 shot, and several others over the years.

Phony is the word for her, along with a few others that can't be said here.

You've gotta give her credit for gall. Mrs Communist loving Clinton not only wears a cross, but it has to be a diamond encrusted one!

She must have sent her Phoenix pin that she usually wears, denoting her membership in the 'Illuminati', out to be repaired or has it tucked under a lapel somewhere.

And a pentagram as well, autographed by Hubbard.

Don't laugh. Hubbard and Mahony have both wratched up their LEM programs after receiving the final blessing at last November's USCCB meeting. In last week's edition of The Evangelist (the diocesan newspaper of the Albany RC Diocese), a full page was devoted to Catholic Lay pariticipation. It featured a photograph of approximately 25 lay people who are somewhere along their 2 year training program to become Lay Ecclesial Ministers. Hubbard began implementing this long before its approval. Twenty years ago, he appointed a nun to run one of the more remote parishes. The USCCB blessing simply translates into major growth. The majority of LEMs being assigned are women. The priests of the diocese are slowly evolving into nothing more than sacramental ministers. And Hubbard plans to expand this program even more! He is still 6 years away from retirement. As bad as things are here (constant church and school closings) - you can only imagine what will be left for his successor. And that individual, assuming he is more orthodox (could he possibly be less?) will be confronted with a reverse dilemna. Should he attempt to re-introduce some modicum of orthodox catholicism, he will be met with pitch fork wielding femal LEMs who will not give up their positions of power.

As for the pentagram, the Albany Times Union ran a full front page article on Fr. Dr. Richard Vosko and his magnificent work of 'updating' Catholic Churches across the country and around the world. The accompanying photo of him showed a man wearing a golf shirt and jacket. The article had a close up shot of this monstrosity from the 'wreckovation' of the Milwaukee Cathedral ......

and labeled it 'innovative and creative'. You can read the entire article at the following link (barf alert!)

When you read Gary Aldrich's Unlimited Access, and read how the Clintons mocked Christmas with decorating their tree with condoms, and other sex related stuff, it just seems so pretentious

And disgusting as well.

When Vice President Al Gore and his wife Tipper entered the Blue Room for the annual White House Christmas party and saw the condoms, dildo vibrators, and crack pipes hanging from the First Lady’s Christmas tree, Mrs. Gore said, “You will not desecrate Christmas and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ;” and with one punch, Tipper Gore knocked Hillary Clinton between the eyes, flat on her back to the floor, and immediately left the Christmas party with the Vice President,” according to federal whistleblower Stewart Webb who confirmed FBI agent Aldrich’s pornographic tree assertions. -- http://www.thepeoplescube.com/red/viewtopic.php?t=401

Response from the People's Commissar:
"I'm looking forward to Purge Season. Ahhh... the smell of fear, the sweat on the foreheads, the glaring Klieg lights, the flowing tears, the begging pleas for mercy... I don't know about you, but it gives me goose bumps and a warm fuzzy feeling that my cold blooded reptillian hypothalamus really enjoys, like a snake sunning itself on a warm, flat rock."

She ought to be wearing a hammer and sickle charm around her neck.

Religious symbols as decorative fashion accessories, distastful enough. Sporting them for political advantage even more so.

I'm surprised that cross hasn't burned a hole in her neck...

Only in someone's pocket. Sprinkle it with holy water, however, and watch her scream.

"*Commenters have politely alerted me that a crucifix is a cross with a representation of that guy -- what's his name again? -- attached. ... That was TOTALLY uncalled for!"

It's worthwhile to make the distinction, which amazingly so few people understand. The plain cross is different than a Crucifix which is a cross with a Corpus (Latin for body) upon it.

In protestant churches there's a cross, although nowadays sometimes no religious symbol at all. In Catholic churches (if they are following the rubrics) a Crucifix is displayed. This is essential becuase of the theology of Redemption by the Son of God.

Christians of many faiths, as well as rappers, Madonna and others, wear crosses. It should be a private symbol of devotion, not decoration, and some argue it's a form of sacrilege to wear in a flashy or overly obvious manner.

As for Hillary, when she comes out pro-life, we'll know that cross is sincere.

It was referring to Jesus Christ as "what's his name" that bothered me.
